The @bsolute Importance of the @ Mention

When you are leaving comments directed at a specific user, please use the @ mention technique.
What is that, you ask?
@ mentioning is kind of like hash tagging on social media. For example, in reply to a user named starboot76:
@starboot76 thanks for the feedback! I like starboots too! This will give them notifications on Feedback Friends, and eventually the main site as well.
So @ mention everyone!

How To Get Your Game ID

Also ratings show. It's glorious.

To get your game ID, go to your game's page on Feedback Friends, then look in the address bar for the uid= tag, as shown below.

It's the Final Countdown

The last week of judging is here!
Run for your lives!
But seriously...
stl.png The last week of judging is here, and I have a suggestion. Let's all look for games that have little to no comments and play them during this last week. Let's support those who get little feedback and help them get more than 20 ratings so that they can place alongside us. Comment games you've seen that need some love, and get voting!

Share The Love Drive - Part 1

Part 1 of the Share The Love Drive! This drive will take games that don't have enough ratings to place and promote them so we can all revel in the ratings together! Here are the first three that have come to my attention:

Rougelike One by @guitarbro and team

The Curator by @prototyke and team

Ark Initiative by @ teslov and team

Need Ratings? Share the Love!

All this week I'll be promoting games brought to me that don't have enough ratings (under 20) to rank. Round one is these 4 games, links below the image.
sharetheloveday2.png

1. Last Day Of The Woods by @redblack-spade 2. The Curator by @prototyke and @adcrusher 3. Ark Initiative by @teslov, @best-marshmallow, and @medu 4. Roguelike One by @tgrehawi, @cethin, @chris-otey, @benjamin-covington, @guitarbro, @matthew-kelly, @holly-baker, and @ashley-crouch

These are all excellent games (I played all of them except Last Day Of The Woods, so far) that really ought to place by the end of the judging period.
Round 2 starting tomorrow and going through Friday! Comment below if you haven't quite ranked yet.

As to the other three...
They ranked!
Last Day Of The Woods, Ark Initiative, and Roguelike One have all reached 20 ratings and have placed!
Comment below if you haven't quite got 20 ratings!
NOTE: Round 2 is closed, but round 3 is open. I have to limit it to 15 games, though, because I don't have all the time in the world, but there will probably be a round four for Monday-Wednesday next week.

Don't know if you've ranked yet? Check out this spreadsheet by @timeracers to find out! Comment below for Saturday-Sunday promotion.

New Tool by @avavt

Here's an excellent tool for finding games that haven't got enough ratings yet, made by @avavt.
You can find it here.

Ceding To A Better System

sharethelovelogo.jpg
Well, for the past couple days I've been promoting games that haven't gotten enough ratings to place in the upcoming Wednesday Results. Soon after, @avavt joined the 'crusade,' and created this tool for finding games that need some more attention. This, being a better system that individually promoting games that were brought to me, will now take over the Share The Love Drive. I'll still be making posts showing specific games I pull off of that list, but really, just take a look.
Also, I'd like to clarify the goal of this drive.

I am not trying to get you to rate games in categories that you don't feel deserve ratings!

I'm only trying to give them exposure, in addition to the coolness system, in this final week so that as many people as possible can rank.
Please only vote your true opinion on these games, and thanks!

Who Told You That?

If you've played my game, (and if you haven't you should), where did you find out about it? Was it from feedback friends, a comment on your game page, my self-promotion, or the basic Ludum Dare coolness system? Comment below and let me know!
You can find my game here. GameMaker Studio.png

Try This Out!

My game, A Relatively Small World, has an original guitar soundtrack, which I think sounds good on its own, but you should try listening to it (or playing the game) while also listening to RainyMood, a website that plays rain sounds for concentration. It's quite relaxing.

A Message From Dr. Blackcraft

So many things in the world are relative.
Time.
Station.
Size.
This is the one confirmed fact that I have seen in my studies into the world that we live in. So many things are relative, yet they bring order into the world unlike anything man can dream of.
Because of this order, though it may seem hopeless to fight against the chaos and the relativity, I have always observed that our stations in life are as they have always been.
Purposeful.
Perfect.
Right.
Never forget this.

That's exactly what we needed! Thanks @pov!
Although if it keeps expanding at this rate, we're going to have a ridiculous amount of filters.

Thanks so much for the feedback! This was my first Ludum Dare, and my second game jam, making it my second fully completed game in my seven years of hobbyist programming.
I've learned a lot about planning and time management, as well as programming techiniques and keeping clean code, and I'm so excited that people seem to like my game!
@pov @zwrawr and all the github contributors, thanks to you as well for working so hard on the website!
And kudos to everyone who finished a game and to everyone who tried, it's certainly a challenge to undertake and it takes a special kind of developer to do it
Unfortunately I probably won't be participating in Ludum Dare 39, but I look forward to LD 40 and plan to participate in that.
Thanks again to everyone!
