Cube Wars by Hunter X

[raw]
made by Hunter X for LD32 (COMPO)
Everything wants to kill you, but you have no weapon? The solution is simple: use your enemies' weapons against them!

This is my second completed Ludum Dare entry. I decided to go with the concept of having to manipulate the NPCs in order to benefit from their weapons and abilities (such as being able to trigger otherwise un-pressable pressure plates). It's not a huge game, but it gave me a fair bit of practice with enemy AI coding and line of sight, and overall I'm satisfied with how it turned out.

Original gameplay. Sounds were a bit upsetting - Sort of sudden ... And the movement felt a bit harsh too. Though very interesting puzzles.

pretty nice concept, well executed in the action/puzzels

whilst at first I thought it needed check points after I got significantly further through I started to have way more fun than I thought I would as it was genuinely tense, there was no way I was playing through all this again so I had to survive! but then I did die and I thought fuck it there's no way I'm sitting through the starting puzzel/wait again lol.

few polishing type features and I could see this being pretty darn fun if expanded

Interesting idea. I thought the sounds offered useful feedback.

Rather laggy on my computer for some reason. First guy that shot yellow pellets got me confused because I thought the red enemy seeker line thing was a laser that would kill me. Then he shot and killed me with the yellow pellets.

Starting the entire game again was harsh enough for me to stop, but I assume checkpoints were omitted due to time.
