Traditional cartography is a way of the past, so let's see how you handle it!
Join the adventure as white shield-looking-shape man and explore MULTIPLE islands which you can map out.
Features:
- Bad art
- WASD controls
- Over ONE (1) level
- Bad execution of a decent idea
Jokes aside, this is my first "real" game (although I wouldn't call this a real game) so I can't be too upset about how it turned out. It was also the first time I ever used the engine, Godot. It was also my first "serious" project using Python (GDScript is pretty much Python), too. In general, I had no idea how to do anything going into this, and now I know a little more.
I really liked the idea of exploring islands and mapping them based on what you see, I just don't have the skills yet to execute it how I really wanted it. I hope to work on this concept more in the future when I'm a little more experienced.
NOTE: Download of the web version (and thus the embedded version) might take a while. Performance of the web version is also a little bad, since it's just using Emscripten. I'd recommend downloading an executable and running from that, but it's probably not even worth it.
Linux and OSX versions in the downloads directory have not been tested at all, I just used Godot's export for everything that made sense.
Apologies to Mongo who was hyped for this and I have definitely let him down. (http://ludumdare.com/compo/2016/08/26/i-have-no-idea-what-im-doing-11/#comment-600623 )

Maybe overlay the actual map over map drawn by the player so he/she can see how accurate he was. Or even procedurally generate the map so you can have infinite levels (this is really hard though)! :D
Good job
Cool you have made it with godot engine! :)
