Khufu: the Pyramid Builder by mikekreein

[raw]
made by mikekreein for LD36 (COMPO)
Unfinished physics sandbox around building pyramids. Build the highest pyramid by sliding the blocks on top of each other using ramps. After you move a block, you can't move it again, so plan ahead!

Fun idea, I kind of liked exploiting the variations in the terrain to launch blocks in the air. Ramps that end up sideways or face-down are almost impossible to fix.

I love the physics, and the nice cube color, but I don't know what to do in this game.

I really like the idea behind the game, and hope you will make a finished version.

The physics was maddening. I really like the concept that what you do is final - like JK5000, I'd really like to see a finished and more polished version.

neat idea, kind of hard to control but cool

Cool concept but the base mechanic really needs to be more consistent via some physics tweaks. what engine did you use?

It was built using three.js as the graphics library and cannon.js as the physics library. Most of the compo was spent learning those libraries and playing around with javascript.

It reminds me the sandbox of World of Goo where the goal is to build the highest possible tower. Of course, here, in 3d, controls are less intuitive...
Please keep working on your game! I really want to play a post-compo version.

The physics where a bit frustrating to work with. But i definitely like to see that every button on the mouse (left, middle, right) was used. +1 for that. Also Seeing the blocks fall from the sky knowing the more they move the harder it becomes is a really nice mechanic +2 for that. 3/5

I really enjoyed this sandbox. It's a lot of fun to play. Good job.

Well done, especially considering you spent a good portion of your time learning new javascript libraries. That uneven ground trolls me pretty hard, though, haha!

Controls could be improved, but that was pretty cool.

nice sandbox. The mechanics of only-once box moving probably can be used in some actual gameplay.
