My first Ludum Dare entry ever! :D

This relates to the theme because the player "character" has layers, and when it gets hit it goes...beneath the surface I guess? Less surfacey? It loses surface area anyhow.

Like a square jawbreaker, the main player ;) . I liked this for what it was! It's like a single screen bullet-hell shooter.

Nice and simple. I enjoyed it more than some of the more complex games I've tried.

It's actually a nice mechanic how the game gets easier as you get damaged.

nice game. :) like your way of doing the theme - very "outside the box".. or inside.. because.. your a box.. pun?

Very simple game but very playable and feels good to control. I like your take on the theme.

I liked your game. It's hard to find a submission where the theme is interpreted in a game design.

I like it, the game becoming easier as you go is an interesting idea.

Really nice and simple game. Most games like this tend to get harder and harder and you score points faster and faster, but in some respects this game gets easier as you take hits which is a really neat twist.

Nice job! Especially for your first entry!

Super original use of the theme, loved it.

I really like how tight and complete this game feels, as simple as it is. Small details, like less score with less layer is a big plus, good job!

Dev here: I have a question for everyone - In its current state, as you lose layers, you get less points (# of points you get per second is equal to the number of layers). Do you think this is necessary? Is the lesser protection enough to justify getting the same amount of points no matter how 'small' you are? Maybe the point value change should be adjusted? (Going from 8/sec to 4/sec instead of from 8/sec to 1/sec)

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts (I won't be adjusting these because the jam is over, I'm just wondering in case I pursue this game further).
Thanks! ^_^

Interesting game, pretty fun:), although I wonder if maybe the last layer should be something other than black, but nice job:)

Simple design and well executed. Shows that you can do a lot with a little. Good job!

To answer your question: I don't think you should alter the amount of points you get at all. Keep the difficulty constant. As it stands right now, you lose layers making it easier to dodge, but the bullets get faster so the difficulty is constant. Don't punish people for the same amount of difficulty.

Fun and simple, great metaphor with the theme. Beneath the surface you are the same as the bullets. :D
Could use some music though.

About your question see Miltage's post, I agree with him/her.
