SUSTAIN by Xion

[raw]
made by Xion for LD26 (COMPO)
To sustain yourself,
you've got to refrain yourself.

That was the idea at least.
Anyway this has been probably the most relaxed and least stressful LD I've done so I dunno what that means.

I like how gameplay, visuals and audio work together. I also think your concept worked out pretty well.

Looks really great, and the time mechanic is cool, but I just couldn't control my aim and shoot simultaneously well enough to beat the first level. Nice concept, I hope you expand on it!

Oh I hate you.
I was working on this mechanic for an arena shooter just 4 month ago and eventualy got stuck unable to find a good shot system. Your right click to spawn multiple target points is a very good solution to this problem.

I was also suprised by the choice of introducing non time-relative enemies, it kills the strategic shooter and turn it back to his arcade original shape.
But infact once you get used to it it's pretty fun fo play.

Congratulation, but to be frank, I'm a bit jealous right now :)

What a great concept! Really fun, the variety of enemies that make use of the concept is great.
One little issue - sometimes the next wave begins while there are still a couple enemies on screen, I assume this is unintended, but perhaps not?

That was amazingly refreshing loved how fast pace was tackled by time control

Turnbased bullethell? Every time I thought I got this game mastered it threw new tricks at me. This is one of my favourite entries so far!
