THEY CANNOT DIE
---------------

My very first entry in a ludum dare. Unfortunately, my weekend was kind of fully booked, so out of the 48 hours I have only had about 10 to work on the game, so it lacks polish.

Nevertheless - here it is: THEY CANNOT DIE.
A tower defence/top down shooter type of game in which you get chased by monsters. You have a powerful gun, and can build towers that will destroy your foes. The only problem is, they cannot die. With every new wave, defeated enemies will reawaken - and they have shifted shape. How long will you survive?

Version Description
-----------------------
Version 1 - This is the original, in which a few things didn't work properly, including the towers and the enemy re-spawn. I have since fixed this and recommend that you don't play this version.

[Post compo]
Version 2 - In this version, the game is fully playable as the major bugs has been fixed. However, nothing else has changed so this game is too easy and unbalanced.

[Post compo]
Version 3 - This is the version I recommend you play. No big bugs and the gameplay has been balanced. Note that the only things I have changed is tweaking of numbers and variables and that no new content has been added.

---------
I recommend you playing with low sound volume and in as a large resolution as possible, as the sound is a bit loud and the UI doesn't work well with small resolutions.

Was a nice fun little game, pretty good in 10 hours. A tutorial would have been nice xD I don't know what wave I made it too because the UI was clipped but I played for some time.

I like the low poly gfx and the colors. This has a good retro-feel.

Neat idea and Pretty cool that you made all those models in such a short space of time. For me, all the enemies seemed to get bunched and I wonder if maybe introducing some variation into their path-finding would help make them a bit less predictable. But I had fun nonetheless.

Fun for a game made in 10 hours :D I made mine in 16.
The enemies hoard together though.
You really should embed a WebGL build or UnityWebPlayer version of the game.

Got to wave 51 after I killed myself. It was way too easy imo, which made it kind of boring after a while. A difficulty curve would have been nice. But the first 20 rounds was fun!

Also - most of my turrets doesn't seem to work :/

Nonetheless, really good job for 10 hours!

Hope you had fun making it =)

Thanks for the feedback! The big bugs with the towers has been fixed since version 2, and in version 3 I have balanced the game as to make it harder and the enemies not as predictable. (Note that I have only tweaked variables and not added any new content).

Nice concept, fun little game.

Cons:
- audio too loud and didn't fit
- towers can't get destroyed

Pros:
- good controls
- gets more challenging over time
- nice map

Overall good job :) Keep it up

Nice peace of work!

I really like an idea if mixing shooter with tower defence. But I think it would be nicer if the gameplay was focused more on building, than shooting.

Interesting concept for a top down shooter/tower defence game! My main criticism was that the towers I were dropping didn't seem to help me much, but the immortal enemies were an interesting take.

Well done!

Original idea, maybe it needs AI more complex, because only follow you is a bit repetitive. Keep working, it is nice.

Pretty good for a short amount of time. Controls are solid, and sound is good.

Seems like there needs to be more to the enemy AI, though, if you want to improve it...right now you can sort of just kite the enemies around in a big clump and drop towers near the spawn points.

I really like the idea of combining a TD with a twin stick shooter. The concept is something you should definitely expand upon. I think with a bit of polish and some solid level design (I was able to get on a pole where the enemies couldn't get to me) this would be a great game.

Hilarious fun man, the idea was pretty good and you did it well. The enemy AI is just the right level of evil to make a zerg rush inevitable and keep the game's pace up. I might have found a little bug where if an enemy is plowing straight into you they seem to be immune to bullets no matter where fired. Otherwise great work!

Nice game! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you’d like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/Rc53wZClozM

Neat idea, and very well done for 10 hours of work. The towers need to be buffed, because they seem a little useless right now.

Cool little game would of liked to see more polish as it's quite promising.
