Iron Santa (world battle) by Dmitri Z

[raw]
made by Dmitri Z for LD22 (COMPO)
Wow. I never thought I'd be able to animate a sprite on screen.
But, here it is, my very first end-to-end video game. It's super minimalist. And I had to learn pretty much everything this weekend (how to program in Javascript, how to use the JawsJS game framework, how to draw vector art, etc). And, obviously ran out of time.

Instructions:
Arrow keys to move.
Space to shoot.
Enter to select

Thank you to Johnicholas for getting us all into this!
Thank you to Cat Valente for ideas and words and support!
Thank you to Sarah for the heart containers, and to the whole ME Ruby crew for a great weekend.

A little bit more in the way of 'stuff to do' and 'variation' with a tiddle of music and we'd have a winner.

Nonetheless - I highly don't regret the 90 seconds of my life spent playing this twice (and maybe even a third time :P)

I would have liked to see more variation, challenge, maybe a little more of a point, moving enemies, heck, these themes present an interesting challenge. Maybe after the compo's over you could sit down and think about some interesting ways to embody and fight these enemies, I think that would be a good game right there, rather than getting behind a scanned drawing and pressing the space bar. Good luck, I hope you do well!

It lacks in game play a lot, but still it manages to be fun somehow!
