Super Kommandant Exteme by Nothing Games
Super Kommandant Extreme is based around two main ideas, Light as a limited resource and Hogan's Heroes perspective on prison camp Kommandants, the idea being that while people were off fighting in the war the kommandants stayed home and lived the life of the party. The only real thing they feared was having their command taken away from them, so you better stop those prisoners or you'll be wearing snow boots on the eastern front!
At the start of the LD i had the option of doing nice or quick and dirty code, i chose the latter so if you look at my source be prepared for horror.
Programmed in Java, nothing else :P
Sound tools were Audacity and Sibelius!
Graphics were made by a little program called ArtIconsPro and the logo was created using OpenOffice.
Quick instructions for people who do not want to read the ingame ones:
WASD / left mouse grab and drag : navigate the map.
Moving the mouse : watch tower beams follow your curser.
Right mouse button : Fire machine gun.
Watch tower beams when the large part is held over a prisoner (they will stop moving) for long enough will cause them to vanish back to their barracks, do this!
Only shoot them if they get outside the fence! killing guys inside of the fence will cause you to lose very quickly!

The wall of text in the intro made it a downer tough. I confess I didn't exactly read it, so on the first rounds my prisoners just escaped.
I only realized what I should be doing about 5 or 6 rounds in, when I discovered the right mouse button would shoot.
Even though, finding them prisoners was pretty hard, and killing them was unrewarding, so it was not very fun.
The music was pretty nice, but having it be interrupted every once in a while really broke the flow and made it annoying.
Apart from my douchebaggery, the game was really awesome, congrats!
Nevertheless the concept is great. Really liked it! Good Work.
If you can get past the touchy subject matter it is definitely worth a play.
The music starts out nice but is too short and the looping really stands out. I could never identify what the rustling sound represented which really bothered me.
I think you make the player read too much (my game suffers from this too) and you should at least make the text you present to the player in a bigger font so it's easy to read and takes up most of the screen.
5 stars on innovation and theme!
I found a bug (I think). At one point, I paused it, went back to the main menu, clicked back through to the game, and it was still at the pause screen. Nothing seemed to work to unpause. I could press Q to go back to the menu, but that was it.
Apart from that, very nice entry.
Still, a great start with an unique idea.
