Rememberance... by AClockWorkLemon
Ahhh, got it Done! About time! This is my 3rd ludum dare completein :D
Rememberance... is a very slow game designed to be peaceful. I would try and explain the concepts behind the rudimentary storyline here, but that would spoil half the concept (working it out yourself). Basically, go around and collect dots.
Controls:
Click and Hold to make the player move away from the cursor (if you have played Osmos, this will be familliar).
That is all! I hope you enjoy this game! Please, leave all your comments/criticism in the... comments. i'm interested to see what you guys think of this.
Timelapse coming up soon :D

Take just about any game, strip away just about everything, and you're left with this. The lock-and-key with 50 keys and a lock that opens at the end of the game.
Which really isn't fun. I fell 4 thoughts short of completing this game before giving up.
I'm going to give you more than one star for theme because it's not just about exploration. You fulfilled the theme in the sense that you're discovering who/what you are, but that's about it.
Graphics are there and they work.
Audio is there and it works.
Couldn't find any humour, so N/A.
In short: you flopped. Better luck next time.
Community-wise, you provided a time-lapse AND a beta. It seems you speedcoded in the last hours or something. The most unfortunate thing was that the beta was more fun to play than the "finished" product.
Greasemonkey: What in particular did you prefer about the beta?
increpare: Hmm. i'll need to either make it more or less relaxing, currently its sorta 50/50. Thanks for the input :D
One of the things i am DEFINATLY adding will be some way of seeing where the closest one is.
Tom7: I was planning on havinga an epic ending, but this thing happened, called a deadline :/
As I feared hunting down the last few thoughts is overly tedious. Also, the thought texts were not particularely surprising nor exciting (half of the find who/what you are games come up with a crash/accident). The mouse control feels the wrong way around. And it's slooow.
Make it faster, give the player hints on where the nearest thoughts are and it gets a lot better.
Good old FlashPunk is use there. What i did was ovveride FlashPunk's Rednder function, telling it not to clear the screen completely then redraw like it normally does, but to overwrite with a partially transperant Buffer. That way, it takes time for things to fade, however Hitboxes ETC stay where you want them
The game really needs some kind of challenge the keep the players interest though, it's just too slow and tedious.

How come the thoughts and the player don't blur, too, then?
hdon: I may drop the project and move on, im not sure. havt looked at the source code because i was on holidays. the reason only the background blurs, is i onlt do the said method in the background Entitie's Render() function, hence it only effects that entity.
Thanks for all the positive comments! Greatly appreciated
Hunting down the last piece took a while - there is always one that gets missed.
