Thinking with shapeshifts - altar boy rescuer by Paskal007r

[raw]
made by Paskal007r for LD35 (JAM)
You are given a shape-shift gun that can stretch the items it hits.
Use it to sneak into a church and save the poor altar boy before he gets raped!
NOTICE: you can aim with WASD keys on keyboard

WARNING: if you want to download the zip file and play from your computer, chrome won't work (and will probably crash too). You'll have to either play on firefox or just play it online @ http://brightreasongames.com/UnityBuilds/LudumDare/

The only thing I didn't do myself, besides unity engine, it's the player movement controller, for which I picked a package from @cjkimberlin here on github:

Controls are a bit hard when you're using the keyboard as aiming and moving becomes pretty awkward. I didn't have a gamepad to plug to try with that unfortunately.

I definitely like the core game mechanic!

Really interesting art style and mechanic man. Although the ninja does seem a bit out of place! Overall top job :D

Good gameplay mechanic, but as tanis says a bit hard to control with the keyboard.

Well done.

Hi there, very well executed for a gamejam. The core mechanics are well implemented.
I like the unique graphic style with the hand drawn and scanned objects. A proper tutorial would have been nice, so the player can learn everything step by step. The keyboard controls feel a bit awkward, but ok.

Game mechanics are really interesting, and the game made me laugh a lot :) Collisions are very imprecise though, and make the game quite difficult.
Overall, I had a good time playing this entry !

I couldn't get it to work with keyboard. What am I missing?

Haha, love it! Music is spot on, the art style really plays like a children's storybook, and the concept is great! Only thing I would say is that controlling with a keyboard felt extremely hard to do, and not as responsive as I would've hoped. Perhaps a control toggle for WASD to be movement instead of aim?

Wow, very original idea. And graphics, drawing on a paper is actually innovative. Music is pretty monotonic, tho.

The core idea is kind of unique and very well thought! I really like the character pixel art style, and wish the rest of the game could have been the same way :)

Again, great idea with the game mechanic, well done!

Tried this again and got a better hang of it. It must be more responsive with a controller- sorry! The graphics are great and the core mechanic is cool- will try again in the future when I have a controller.

Love the art, the controls could have been just a little tighter though. Sets a very interesting mood. Oh and the shape-shifting mechanic works like a charm.
