I liked the game, the graphics and commentary were awesome. Had a lot of fun trying to figure out where to place everything.

Nice idea. I found it very hard. Always made it to week 6, despite of trying different tactics etc.

The difficulty is pretty tought, but not too much.

Graphics surely need some polish but it's ok for a compo

The theme fits, maybe not with a fully grasp but it's ok

Overall is a nice little game to play and challenge yourself

This is really fun, and the interface feels good. I like how well it gives feedback on selections. The graphics and sound are well designed and fits the feel of the game. I get this nice chill feeling typical of a good management game.

I can only do it for 9 weeks. Sometimes I have no choice. There are too much randomness.
Anyway, It's a funny game.

The theme tie in is a bit on the nose but I guess it's better than missing it altogether. The art seems prototype-y but I like it. As mentioned in some of the other comments, it is pretty difficult, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I really like the information given when you hover over a house. It's a clean and quick way to get the information. The rest of the information is clearly displayed too.

I enjoyed the voice-over. It's a nice touch.

Haha nice game! The voice-over was great, and the music and sound effects suited the game very well! Despite finding it quite difficult, I think it is quite enjoyable.

Great game, I played it through several times and found it really clever. I made it 21 weeks, with about 550 in income. Once I figured out that I should click on the house that was in a good position and then hover over the options to see the highlights around it, the game became much easier. Before that, I was mousing around trying to remember who wanted what, and it was too hard. Theme is a stretch, could just be $$, but who cares. Great work!

I played through maybe 10 times, but always went bankrupt after 7 weeks :confused: It needs some balancing, and some mechanic to counterweight the randomness.

I liked the music, it resembled an Age of Empires tune :smile:

Well, I will go against the other guys, and I say that if sticking to the theme is a this big stretch, you should have just let the theme go. The game would have looked better in a fully economic theme. :slight_smile:

I liked that minimalistic art style, the popups, the ui panels, and the indicators as well. :thumbsup:

Summary: Could have received a bit more depth, balancing, and should have just let the theme go.

Fantastic game, I made it all the way to week 25 before I couldn't keep up. instead of having to click on a house and hovering over a store to see what people want to buy you should just have a panel on the side that allows you to do that, and maybe a way to zoom out. The voice acting was a really nice touch.

Had a lot of fun with this! I was able to get to 8 weeks. The music was relaxing and chill, perfect for setting the mood and your lighthearted voice over fit the relaxed and fun vibe. "You are dead" was a personal fav :joy: . I enjoyed the simple graphics, this all added up to a strong mood. I could see this developing into a bigger project with more mechanics, simple but still very difficult and a lot of fun! Great work!

I was able to reach week 10. I really like to concept of balancing out your options and trying to figure out your next move. It's very interesting.
I didn't like the UI and graphics. Although, it's nice that you've made indicators that show you which house wants to buy what when you hover over any shop's icon.
Overall it's a fun game.

Couldn't quite figure the best strategy. But the game seems complete and well-polished. Music and voice acting adds a lot to the atmosphere. Awesome job!

The idear works well and the challenge is finely balanced. It's just a bit frustrating to be unable to change the zoom and to admire how the city have grown. But still a really cool work

Pretty difficult! But it's a fun idea and game. Nice touch with the yellow overlay when you hover a shop, made understanding which houses wanted what a lot easier!

Spot on with the theme. The graphics were brilliant, especially with the time constraints of a Compo game 😄. The difficulty was pretty high, but that probably made it all the more fun. Congrats on making this in just 48 hours!

I had a lot of trouble getting past 6 weeks at first, then I changed my strategy a bit and managed to reach 12 :smile:

Hey, made it to week 9 !! Enjoyed the game, the UI art and effects are great, the tuning looks good too. Randomness is a but frustratring tho, I am curious, have you considered the possibility of seeing the next spawn ?

@hugzfnr I am not totally sure what you mean by seeing, but if you mean, that I have consider using seeds, so you can play the same scenarios more then ones? Then the answer is no, but it could be an idea for a post version of the game. You are clearly not the only one who don't like the games randomness. The idea with the randomness is to make challenge different from one round to the next round. Even with the randomness I have in my test of the game, seen that it in most cases it is possible to survive from about 18 to 25 weeks with a good strategy.

I liked the gameplay and it was well-built.I would never imagine that a LD game would have dubbing hahaha.
I just think that there should be an option to do nothing in the turn

Nice game, I liked that you commented it a bit. I did not like the "You are dead" at the end. Is just didn't fit. But overall interesting gameplay and nice overview of the needs of the citizens.

I liked the voice acting and gameplay. Howerver, I felt the theme was slightly lacking. Also, I felt that past a point it was impossible.
