Intrepid is a worker placement/resource management game where you must try to return to Earth with dwindling power supplies.

Additional Instructions:

You are trying to return to Earth. To do so, you must first get close enough that Earth is in range of the FTL drive. In this case, that means you'll have to jump enough to traverse 80 lightyears. Then, Earth will show up when you use the Sensors room as a possible jump location.

Each jump requires the jump charge to be at least 3, and if it's only 3 or 4, a successful piloting check is necessary to avoid 2 hull damage. The next jump location can be chosen by using the Sensors room, otherwise it is randomly drawn from the top of the jump location deck.

Click on crew member meeples to select them, and then click on rooms to move and perform an action there. If a room is on fire, in the middle of a mutiny, or has alien invaders, you won't be able to use the system there until those problems are resolved first. Similarly, you can use a room while it's damaged, unless there are as many damages to the room as people it can hold.

Each location has a unique deck of crises to deal with from alien lifeforms attacking your crew, to hostile spaceships or explosions.

Tools used: Unity 2017.1, Photoshop, Inkscape, Bxfr, Audiotool

Bugfixes: Fixed bug where being able to shoot more enemies then there were would cause the game to freeze

Got a bug when I had to fire at ships under the red button otherwise fun, I was more running out of luck than power ^^

I like the strategy mechanics, and the rolling dice made it feel like a tabletop game which I really liked. It ran slow for my taste, I had trouble getting the ship moving around a lot of the time.

Really cool! I enjoyed the mechanics and the 3d dice rolls were really cool and added suspense. A little bit of polish and this would be really fun!

The skill checks appear to be terribly... random. For some reason I had better chance of success with a low skill person.
Also Would've been nice to have some "cafeteria" where people could just chill without spending energy...

The game moved a little slowly, but it was a lot of fun, especially the dice. I ended up 3 energy short of winning.

I liked it, pacing was a bit slow. Hit a bug on my first play through when I ran out of power, presumably the game over screen, but was just an explosion effect and looped sound forever while showing me crisis cards.

This is probably my favorite submission so far. In particular, I like that the mechanics are very simple, yet have a lot of depth. A few things I would like to see if you continue to update this project, is a more polished UI/visuals and a way to cancel a crew members action when he moves into a room. What ended up happening to me is I would put a crew member into a room, with the intentions of using that room, only to notice that the room needs repairs. This felt punishing, as it forces the player to perform an unintended action with the wrong crew member. A very awesome game, none-the-less!

Really good game. Definitely sucked me in. The graphics are simple, but I think you had enough style going on to make them still pretty fun, like the pirate ships flying around. The explanation for how to play was a little confusing, but I just played and figured it out. Got into a scenario where I couldn't pull a guy out of my engine that was on fire to repair it with my trained repair guy, so the guy in the engine room kept failing the repair check for like 6+ rounds and we never made it back to earth :( Great music too. Weirdly effective and fitting despite sounding pretty short and repetitive for a game that lasts a while. Good job.

Great game! I especially liked the dice rolls and the way it never gets boring, because you always keep the player busy.

The graphics look a little unfinished and on my screen the right side is cut off, but apart from that, this is really cool!

Cool game! Two things to improve: the yellow grid in the background while choosing a training at the holodeck, it isn't very beautiful and i would like to see the stats of my crew. And you can't undo a character selection, which would be nice after a missclick.

Really cool game! Loved the dice mechanics. Even if the graphic is very simple, it really feels like a board game

Interesting game that I'm absolutely terrible at. Ran out of energy with 15 light years to go :( The dice rolls were a nice touch, and the core gameplay was a lot of fun once I got the hang of it. There's definitely some strategy behind the best ways to deal with each crisis.

Oh man this was great! I don't think I understood the energy usage though because my first playthrough definitely left me with no energy lol. That explosion at the end though!! Love digital board games like this!

This is a really cool game. I like the resource management. It would be nice to be able to move people without expending energy though.

FTL-inspired I see? Quite fun, not that pretty, and the audio could be better.

The amount of work here is impressive but the mechanisms, background story and theme is a bit to similar to the board game battlestar galactica.

Reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica board game. Unfortunately got stuck trying to fire at some pirates. A lot of fun though!

This is amazingly creative and complex for a Compo game. I'm loving it. It's definitely one of the LD39 games that I've spent the longest playing; the right amount of stuff is happening to hold my attention. The music is also really, really immersive - great beats. It really reminds me of a card game. Nice mix of 2D and 3D graphics too!! Great job! :D
