Sack Knight uses his trusty loot sack to take on the undead king. Collected loot can be sold to upgrade his health, however carrying loot comes at a cost, the more loot you collect the bigger Sack Knights loot sack becomes, having a direct effect on movement and combat.

This game was my first attempt at a solo gamejam, everything is mine but the music, sound effects and some particles, and I’m happy with the results. Unfortunately I had to rush this out and doesnt have much content and has some notable bugs, but this may be a project I pick back up in the future.

Some Known Bugs

-Sometimes the player can get stuck in roll.

-Sometimes clicking to get a new item instantly throws them.

Pressing R to return to menu and jumping back in will hopefully fix these.

Come tell me about how broken my game is: @CallumTrnr

Hitting the skeletons with the sack is pretty satisfying!

I knocked the skeleton king off the edge of the cliff with my enormous sack.

A little rough around the edges but a fun beat-em-up sorta game. I couldn't seem to deposit loot at the spawn location and there were definitely some oddities with collision detection but as far as games go this is a fun one and manages to have some decent beat-em-up game play.

It's an interesting project, and you definitely got the mood and the theme right. The gameplay feels rather janky and unresponsove, but swinging the sack is quit satisfying and rolling with a full bag is just plain hilarious. You can also jump infinitely, which is probably not as intended, and for a game about loot it's rather awkward that I still don't know how to deposit it. If you iron out some of the bugs, make the game feel more responsive and less confusing, it will surely have some potential.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone, some great and very valid points. I'll be sure to check out your games later tonight!

On a side note the loot deposit system was definetely an after thought when I was running out of time so definetely did need some work, you deposit by throwing your loot at deposits but the collisions on them can be a bit tight.

Interesting game, nice first solo gamejam, i liked the game overall, it was a bit wonky on how you dodge/roll and attack at the same time, i diden't really know how to score points, but i really liked beating the skeletons with the giant sack xD! Great game Callumturner.

The attack felt great. The dodge not so much, I would have really liked a jump. Great art and animations. Awesome jam! Thanks.

*spoiler* The huge king scared me, but then he killed himself by walking into the abyss :)

@vincent Yup, my one also walked into the abyss. Wait, i've thrown him there, hihi! Nice game, but i think it would look better if it was just 2D not 2.5D. I laughed a lot when i realized that our knight fights using his sack :D

I could not beat the undead lord at the end of the level, nonetheless the atmosphere and mood are excellent. Awesome job, thank you! :)

The feeling of impact was great. It did seem a little too dark, graphics-wise. The play factor was there though. Great concept.
