Hive World is a turn based strategy game.

In the year 2050 the world is overpopulated and the last hope of the humanity is to colonize other planets. But before that, we have to research how to do it. It’s your job, during this period, manage the United Nations money and decide if invest in science research or to help all the countries with crisis and avoid a possible global war.

The game is turn based. Every turn is an entire year. Every year you will earn some millions dollars and you will have to decide where it goes: to the critical countries or to the science research. But with every non-resolved crisis the global tension will rise and if it reaches the 100% the world war III will start and you will lose the game.

The game can be downloaded for windows

#################################DISCLAIMER

The strategy games need more testing time than arcade games. Please, at the moment to play the game (and to judge it) consider that I didn’t have enough time to test everything. Moreover, I don’t know if the game is even winnable. Just, consider that when playing it. Just try to enjoy it :P

Of course, any (constructive) critic will be accepted and appreciate. Thank you!

Played the game a few times. I was never able to win, but I could get pretty close with a very simple pattern. Skip the first few turns until I can research, then fix all the problems with the middle option. Then keep fixing with the middle option until only 2-3 sections are red. Skip until research then go back to the start. This could get me anywhere from 50-80% completion. I think balancing the game is limited by the time you had so its understandable for there to be exploits. I think some sound, even some clicks when pressing buttons would have made the game feel much less flat. I liked the overall visual style of the game, but you had some layer issues with the UI that would put the panels in front of the text you were trying to show. In all I liked the game, it shows good potential, just needs more time.

I liked this game, looks solid has simple controls (though the tutorial screen was a bit jarring not gonna lie). I suspect you can't win it but maybe that only adds to the story.
