Erita has had enough of her life on her island and set sails one night to finally leave it all behind- only, when she wakes up, she finds she has left her entire world behind. Awoken by a mermaid, Erita finds herself in the underwater city of Ogygia, her new home. Help her find her place in this new world!

Well... As you can see, though, this doesn't really fit the theme of LD 41! That's because it wasn't a great theme in practice (please don't argue in the comments, that's not what the comments are for). My original idea was going to be to make a horror-esque game with Shakespearean/theatrical style writing, but due to time constraints I had to port this to Ren'Py from RPG Maker, so it loses some of its loose theme-fitting. I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, so don't feel obligated to read it if you don't want to.

Features girls love, some Greek mythology, and a lot of flowery prose.

Given that this VN is not quite adherent to the theme, I guess I have to read to the end to find out the two incompatible story genres this story has.

I enjoyed the writing style a lot. The plot was a bit tricky to follow at points, but I think I have it figured out now after playing through a couple endings.

The music and art set a very calm and ocean-like mood.

It would be nice if the skip feature stopped a couple lines back to give some context.

It's a shame there's no music in the main menu, the music in the rest of the game is pretty nice actually - did you compose it yourself? Beyond that, I'm not big on visual novels and I gotta say [though you SPECIFICALLY ask not to comment on that it's the elephant in the room sooo sue me], I find it's a bit of a shame you decided do stay in your comfort zone on this one - you know how to make pretty decent Visual Novels, anyone can tell, and that's pretty cool - but the point of a Game Jam is SPECIFICALLY to put yourself in a situation where you'll find yourself out of your depth [see what I did there haha I like jokes] so you get to learn how to deal with this there and then... so that's what I gotta say. Who knows what you'll come up with next time? I can't wait to find out - take care :-D

I'm not really into visual novels but I really enjoyed it, finished it in one go. Very well written and it has some magical atmosphere, kudos.
