Deathless World by Adrien Dittrick

[raw]
made by Adrien Dittrick for LD 44 (JAM)

A multiplayer dystopian simulator where your citizen's lives are currency.deathlessworldheader.png In this game, you play as one of the 9 countries that are part of the Global World Government (GWG for short) It has been decided that dying is illegal, therefore whenever someone dies you can right-click to fine them heavily. Your citizen's lives are currency, but as they stay alive they will ask for social benefits.

You have many ways of dealing with this phenomenom, one of which is to send your citizens to other player's countries. If you feel like it, you can also form alliances with the others or grief them.

Communication is the key! stream_gif.gif

How to play - Left click: place block - right clik: remove block / fine dead citizen - Enter: chat with others - up/down arrow keys: move screen up/down (you can also move your mouse towards the border of the screen)

I love your entry. So different from others I've played. LoL It was neat to try to find a way to destroy the balls so they'd break every time. :D

The game could use a bit more explanation on what is going on, because I had no idea what to make of it.

That's a multiplayer game, wow! I wish there would be more interaction than just chatting but still I like it a lot

Nice music, however I must admit I did not understand a thing of the game play :o

Bonus points for multiplayer and wierdness. Not sure what the goal is, but at least I can fine my citizens, and they can't complain about it!

I was just shamelessly clicking on dead bodies while reading the chat :D I didn't even have time to think about strategy, but it was working! :D It was a fun way to relax :) Chat is really improving the game a lot, it's always more fun just seeing other people talking and playing too, even when I wasn't interacting with them. I admire your bravery to do multiplayer game for LD ![ld.png](///raw/0f3/01/z/24144.png)

Very unusual game, really interesting take on the theme. Well done on getting multiplayer in. Found the game a little confusing but overall interesting.

A really fun idea, and doing something web based for a jam is always a big challenge. So good on you for doing this!

Multiplayer rate: 8/10
Game mechanics: 7/10
Gameplay: 5/10, there is no objective and gets boring

This is a very good way to show to others even with minimalistic graphics you can get a really great game ! It was super fun and I've tried during a long time to optimise the deaths. great job !

At start I was unsure what the game was about, but it turned to be a pretty cool game with a nice idea. Respect for making a jam game with multiplayer!

A fun concept; first multiplayer game I've come across in here so far. I feel like there's a lot of potential for future expansion by adding additional ways to interact with your neighbours, since once you've got a decent layout set up there isn't much more to do at the moment. Perhaps there's also potential for larger maps with more simultaneous players as well, though this might reduce the personal aspect of the game interacting with the other players closely. Nice work!

I agree completely with the others. The music and the humor was well thought out, but the gameplay could have used a little more development. I must give you so much credit for making a fun, innovative multiplayer game in a game jam! Well done!

At first I thought everyone else was a machine in chat, but oh man this has multiplayer! wow. Nice game overall, very original idea, we should have more ways of interacting with other player (like sabotaging, trading and such) but still it was quite fun to me, good job.

Wow this is insanely ambitious for an LD game, nice job. More ways to die and possibly events as the years go by would be neat to make building more varied.

5 stars. Great job. More ways to kill them would be neat. It would be nice if you could clear areas when their inhabitants leave/die too. To prevent language and blocking other countries

Very interesting concept of a country-sim. A music and whole presentation are awesome.
The only gameplay is not quite obvious from the beginning

As with every multiplayer game, when nobody is around, it's no fun :-) But as I was playing with myself (no pun intended), I found the design very interesting and well thought out. Congrats!

It's incredible you could make a multiplayer game in three days. The idea is interesting, but playing alone is boring. The music is fitting and the gameplay is an original implementation of the theme, I think. Alas, there wasn't much to do. I ended up just making a wall and letting every circle just kill themselves forever.

I found a way to farm the hell out of stuff lol, just only let in people from one side and had them fall into a big pit, they would die instantly and I could farm them for resources, then I just filled up my entire square. I wish other people were playing so I could've got the full experience, but good entry.
