BodyHop by NoNiMad
(All these explanations are available in the menus of the game)
Background RP
You are a demon wandering on Earth with the ability to overtake bodies and possess them.
Lately, you ended up in the body of a prisoner and are now planning your escape of this boring prison. As you kill enemies, you get stronger and can take control of more powerful bodies.
Hop to other bodies as many times as you want and as frequently as you want, just be careful not to jump into a weak human while you surrounded by shotguns...
Your goal: kill everyone and get the best score!
Controls and rules
Movements
Use the arrow keys or WASD to move around
Actions
Left click: uses the current weapon
Right click: hops you into the body pointed by the cursor
To hop, your score needs to be higher than the targeted enemy. This is indicated by its health switching from yellow to green.

couldnt move after respawning
and more
### Issues
1: The bullets were shot a little bit to the side of the curor which made it harder since you had to move it to take over the person (since that was DIRECTLY under the cursor).
2: if you move in towards any enemy that shoots and stands next to them, they dont shoot. (It's probaby easy to fix with some layer or range value but that was useful.)
3: The game would freeze for a fraction of a second after taking over somebody-elses body.
4: When you move diagonaly you move faster, you should normalize the movement vector or multiply both horizontal and vertical movement by 1.414 (sqrt(2)) if you move both ways. That is assuming it wasn't intentional to raise the skill ceiling.
5: No "Game Finished" / "You did it" screen?
### Sound
The sound fit with the game but since you don't have that category I'ma assume you didn't make it.
If you were able to add some heartbeat effect when you had a low hp it would be awesome, I had those moments of really low hp so I had to find someone, but I had to not get shoot when I moved towards them, a heartbeat (or something else with the same purpose) would add so much to that.
Some sound effect when you swich body, some schwoosh or something would add to it. I didn't even notice the lack of music but maybe some battle theme when you were in a fight, or only music when you were out of a fight? If you add music it shouldn't be to overwhelming, the punch and fire effect are the ones you really want to hear so they should be prominent.
### Graphics
I also liked the artstyle and esesially the humans, it felt rough which fit with the game. The level looked good and had small props to not make it feel repetitive. The scenery and floor changed so you didn't get bored of them. There were only 4 different enemies, which was plenty good, but maybe you could've made a different color for them that was used when you "controled" them. It wouldn't add much and it was easy to know who you were now too, but it would look cool. Maybe some magenta theme with particles, idk.
On the same topic some more effect would've been nice. I know that it's a jam and you don't have time for everything but maybe some effects from you currently overtoken body, some death effect and so on. Maybe even a blood effect, noramly I don't want games to add that, but it would fit so well with the rest of the game. (Acording to me)
### Conclusion
If you were to fix some isues, clean it up a little and maybe add different powers or something to add depth, I would problaby play it like any other game. Really well done, great entry, you should be proud!
As the 3d artist i am very happy to read that my models and animations as a whole fit well together, and add to the game :D.
To address some common issues:
Normally a fix has been issued about the respawn problem, players no longer need to close the game to retry.
As for the sound indeed, we had no audio designer/music inclined people in our team, so i found some great sfx and music on OpenGameArt.org, mixed them up with audacity and poof, we had sound !
(I learned much thanks to our last game... sound problems).
Also we did integrate a background music, but apparently not all hear it. we will look into it if more people report it.
The pistol shoots a bit to the side of the cursor, currently we do not know the cause, but it is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.
Finally indeed we did not have the time to create a victory screen, a glaring oversight on our part, sadly adding one now do not feel like a fix and so to respect the rules of the jam it will stay this way for now.
Again thank you all for your feedbacks and bug reports, it is thanks to people like you that we get better at each jam!

But I the camera does not have a delay so it's hard to click the enemy to switch while moving.
But I reached some 6k score. I have no idea if that's good or bad
Keep up the good work.
