Story
In Colorful Memories the world around you has lost all its appeal. Something terrible has happened to your child which resulted in you being down and depressed. In this endless colorless world You walk around thinking about the past and finding memories of days gone. Reliving these memories gives you strength to carry on and these memories slowly bring color back to the world around you.
Objective
You come across 6 memories in total which will give you an insight into the lives of our characters. Each memory will bring back a couple of colors to the world. At the end of the journey you can walk around an endless colorful world!
Controls
- WASD: Walk around
- Mouse: Look around (you know how an FPS game works)
- E: Interact
- Esc: Exit the game at any time.
- Page Up/Page Down: Change mouse sensitivity (Up is up, down is down)
Known Issues:
- Player sometimes falls through the world, if this happens restart the game. ~~Should be fixed in version 1.0.1~~ Apparently not...
- ~~Some subtitles don't fit on the screen, we will fix this hopefully in the coming days.~~ Should be fixed in version 1.0.1
- ~~Some shadows don't work properly, this will probably be fixed soon too.~~ Should be fixed in version 1.0.1
Changelog:
The old versions are still available on the Itch.io page at the bottom of the list!
V1.0.1 (Bug Fixes)
- Fixed a bug where some subtitles would fall of the screen.
- Fixed a bug where shadows wouldn't work correctly on some models.
- Fixed a bug where the player could fall through the world (At least, I think so... This is a tough one to reproduce )
We really hope that you enjoy this experience.

@zelif Glad you enjoyed it, mhhh that should not happen maybe we look into it! thanks 4 the heads up :v:
@hansj Thanks you for the nice comment. This time we wanted to make more of a story based experience and try to do it justice.
It is rather simple, and sometimes I felt overwhelmed by the post processing.
Very interesting indeed.
EDIT: I added the source code to the game page so you could check it out
Interesting concept btw!!!
The light in the last chamber was a bit odd, some shadows does not works properly on linux, still thanks for the linux build!
oww and also! low poly world are really cool imho!
upper branches of a trees? also this vhs/diffractions are really on point
The 3d morphing effect of the world was amazing, really good game.
A solid entry ! Congratulations on making it to the LD47 ! :)

I played your game live today, here is the VOD:

Super pretty game, love the voxel art! Really good work!
here's a tip
i saw your source code project is more than 100mb you can reduce that by doing what in this video

hope it helps
The changing world with time is an excellent choice, it makes the game enjoyable until the end, good coices of music also !!
(the only think I can complain about is the lack of audio transition between little memories and the loop, for the sounds cuts suddenly, but it's okay, just a detail).
Good job really !!
We also chose for our game a topic relied on childhood, in a different way (creepier and less sad at the same time ^^)
I got only one issue, a sentence on the end scene wasn't completed, looks like the text was out of bounds or something like it.

(Small feedback, the physics is a bit weird sometimes and I would have like more sounds effects)
Making the world colorful again felt amazing!
(By the way, my first try I was looking around and then went backwards instead of forward, which lead to me falling off the edge of the world. Maybe just putting up an invisible wall at the start so that you go in the right direction would be good enough.)
I took a peek at your project, and I think it may have something to do with using OnTriggerExit; That's always a much harder thing to get the reasoning right for then OnTriggerEnter...
And now that I'm looking more, I also notice that the colliders are not all on the same height, and you teleport the player by setting transform.position, only changing the z position. You should move objects that have rigidbodies using rigidbody.MovePosition. People sometimes falling through may well be fixed by those two things.
Thanks again for taking the time to look at this! I really appreciate the feedback!
