Hello SirAeron (and all the team!)
Well it was a nice little game you have crafted there :)
Beautiful lightning and particles you added to it. Sound effects were very discret but that's why it's pleasant because you pay attention to your surroundings.
The aesthetics is quite nice in this game it was pleasant :)

to give you feedback i would say that once I understood how the mechanic worked, i didn't feel any threatened anymore by your cute dark creatures. I got hit at the first try but then chopping wood and keeping the fire alive was not much of a challenge, it was pretty easy to actually do the game.
I didn't understand if you could chop wood that fell down because the animation of chopping was still on. It's nice to actually see that woods stays on the ground :)
The fire effect was pretty :)
And it would have been pleasant to hear a nice little ambiance music too :)

Also the only moment I was scared was the end screen! :D why put so much scary sounds on the ending I succeded? it scared the freak out of me! :D ahah

little things I found:

If you go straight in the woods you can actually fall from the map, just so you know!

overall it's 4.5/5 game for me, pretty good ! :)

Really well achieved game! The graphics and animations are awesome, the SFX and ambience is super atmospheric and it really feels like you're there.
I guess the only piece of criticism I can make is that it's a bit hard to see the wood items on the ground, and in general if you just stay around the campfire and keep feeding the flame you don't even get to see any monsters so it's quite easy.
Great entry :)

great game, no issues with controls or how game was played. would be nice to see more features but obviously with the game being a ldjam game there was only so much time to get it done. Congrats!

It feels to me like a (good) weird mix of Don't Starve, Diablo2 and ... for some reason that axe reminds me of the ancient nord axe from Skyrim.
Ah anyway. I missed the challenge a little bit. I axed down 6 trees or so and just hoarded the wood.
Then retreated to the campfire for the rest of the night, keeping it going.

Other than it being a bit too easy, this is a very ncie game. Controls feel snappy, the audio and graphics work very well together.

Nice and complete, feels well crafted overall. I beat it first try, but got properly caught off-guard by red eyes appearing in the darkness. I had slight issues with getting caught up in clutter (like a small rock on the floor) I couldn't see very well, but it might have to do with room I was playing in being a bit bright. BTW your mac and linux links are broken but I just used the windows link instead ;)

This was a fun game. I didn't regret spending those 10-ish minutes to keep my fire alive. Overall, a really polished game and I think it stands in every regard. I wish you could chop on those demons too, but it doesn't really matter :D One thing I wish was changed, is that you barely can see the fallen pickable tree trunks. Maybe a faint glow around them would be nice, because, being chased by the cute little demons, I missed probably half of them. Overall, a great game

This is great! The sound design is excellent, makes hitting the trees feel really satisfying. I would love to see this expanded into something bigger in the future.

Great atmosphere and concept. could use better sound effects for the damage but that's just a nitpick. great entry!
