V 1.1 - Massive Post Game Jam Update
Since our team had lots of fun developing our Ludum Dare entry St. Hestia, we decided to deliver a massive post Gamejam update! We received a lot of feedback for our game and dealt with most of it.
Major Changes
Main Character Model - We have found the time implemented our main character Vesta. Now she can finally smash some of them ghosts and protect the campfire on her own.
Complete Menu Overhaul - The menus and UI elements ingame got a complete graphical overhaul. There are now buttons, backgrounds and HUD popups in a style that suits the game well.

Global Timer - After a few tests and a lot of feedback, we decided to shorten the timer to six minutes (for now). This should result in a different game feel. The value might be adjusted after a bit more testing.
Compass - Some of you got lost in the woods, so we implemented a compass for you. The widget always points in the general direction of the campfire, which makes it a lot easier to find your way back.

- 32-Bit Version - From now on you can download a 32-Bit Version, too.
Minor Changes & Bugfixes
- Blocking Volumes added - The level has got some additional blocking volumes that make it impossible to fall off the map.
- Convenience Buffer - Our Convenience-Buffer has been shortened, so from now on you have to take care of your bonfire even more.
- Ingame Music - The ingame music plays now in a loop.
- Interact Widget - The interact widget has been embellished.
- Custom Cursor - The game has now a custom cursor - Bye, Windows default cursor.
- Desktop Icon - The game also has Desktop Icon now.
* PCloud Download - In order to reduce the data consumption on our private PCloud address, we have removed the PCloud download link. The link was replaced by the game's official Game Jolt site.
Thank You!
After that being said we want to thank you for all the positive feedback we received. If you encounter any more bugs, feel free to message us.
Also thank you @jake-marks for playing the game and streaming it on Twitch! We gained so helpful insights through your stream.
Thanks for playing St. Hestia - It means a lot to us!

But it's really nice. Love the shading and the mood.
Somehow reminds me of the ghost hunting in Zelda MM. Which is good.
Alas - when the fire bar runs out, the game doesn'T end. It'll keep burning.
I think I wouldn't even have made it through the first third of the night other wise, :D
I really loe this game, even though the night is too long.
Graphics are neet and the mood it here.
Schöne !

Edit: So I just tried out your game and I loved the idea of having roguelite elements in it. The skilltree adds a sense of replayability to it which makes it even better. Apart from that you're totally right, Our ideas we're pretty similar. Good Job on that game and keep the fire burnin'! ;)
I wouldve liked a bit of camera rotation and possibly a hud element so I could find the fire on the first level, I nearly got lost a few times. Camera rotation would've also helped with seeing the logs, as the trees could get in the way sometimes.
Well Done!
Edit: There is a compass HUD element in the game now, which points into the general direction of the campfire, so you don't get lost anymore.

The interpretation of the theme seems to be quite common, but the implementation of having a stationary as well as a portable fire source sets St Hestia apart. The ghost were a nice addition, that worked well atmospherically, although I'm not quite sure if they have an actual gameplay impact. Do they drain the fire?
Overall a fun experience on a - for a jam - suprisingly high level of polish
As for the ghosts, they burst when they're close enough to the campfire and do moderate damage.
We didn't want to set the value too high to keep the game playable. Do you think, the game was too easy?
Edit: So I just played your game - good job with the rainy mood and the overall atmosphere!
