Monster Positioning System by Shawn

[raw]
made by Shawn for LD33 (JAM)
Your monster buddies have gotten trapped in a strange city, and something unknown is affecting their monstrous viciousness. Use the subway lines to get them out of there!

Objective:
Get 5 monsters to the portal

Game creation info:
The map is from Washington DC's metro system. I built the game so I'll be able to integrate more easily, but I don't have time this weekend. I created the game using Angular, Sass, Yeoman, animate.css, and Grunt.

I also used Sublime Text, Sketch, Photoshop, fish, and cfxr.

Cool look, clever to use the subway map as a node-to-node system. Ironically, I would have rated graphics quite highly!

Really clever idea, but the UI could use some attention. Making the monster hit-boxes a bit bigger would have helped a whole lot.

This could make a good mobile game.

The movement of the monsters seems very off, with delays of up to 2 seconds from clicking to movement, but otherwise, this is quite good.

Very cool. I actually really like the idea of making a game to adjust to a new city. I may be doing that next year, so I'll have to keep that in mind. But I had fun with this one!

My only thoughts would be it was a little too easy to get bottled up in the ends. Though maybe that's DC transit's problem not yours.

Fun idea, the UI could use some polish though.

I had a really hard time understanding exactly how this game is played. It feels like there isn't quite enough feedback to really understand what you can/cannot do and why.
This is unfortunate, because the idea of competitive subway navigation is actually a really cool one. The thought of there being a game where you need to find more efficient train routes than an opponent sounds really appealing, and I think this could be that game with a little more polishing up.

I ended up being very confused on what to do. However, the game does look nice. Maybe a bit more instruction would help.

Took me a while to realize how to play and then the game felt so slow. Nice idea though.
