I liked the idea, that level changes with your kicks. But that was not obvious for me at first ))

First rounds I just pushed opponent to the wall and press punch for win. On third it looks like just need to kick fast.

For anyone not on Linux, it seems like this is a Godot 4.x game with the Compatibility renderer. So you can use https://gotm.io/web-player/ and drop the .pck to play it. (it's just very laggy for a few seconds compared to the Linux build, at least for me)

Interesting idea. I agree it could use some difficulty balancing/strategy. And more juice/feedback on walls, maybe like a bit of screen shaking and thuds in stereo every time a wall drops. And a death animation other than the fighter sinking into the ground :p

@cagibi Yeah this game was made with Godot 4.0. I used the Compatibility renderer to try a Web build but couldn't get it to work within the submission hour and sadly and I didn't have time debug it until now. Didn't kown about this link, thanks!

I agree with you and @mozokevgen, the AI is way off, maybe I can work on it when I revisit the game later.

Wow, I didn't think about adding some feedback to the walls dropping, it really would make a big difference to the experience. This is something I absolutely will add when I revisit this.

Thanks for the feedback.

I found the strategy of pushing my opponent into the oncoming falling pillars fun. Good work!

Yo, cool game! Controls felt a bit weird and there wasnt a lot of response from the game to tell me whether what I was doing was good. However, overall pretty good! and interesting take on the theme! Nice Work

Interesting game! Does hitting the opponent have any actual effect on them?

The audience reminds me of the little crowd of miis that would cheer you on while playing wii sports resort.

I had trouble figuring out a good strategy for defeating the AIs. For the first two I used the "shove to the end of the field and punch once" strategy, while for the last few I just spammed the "fast punch" and prayed my attacks would be be slightly faster than theirs. I think it'd be nice to have some more agency:
- Maybe the AIs could telegraph their attacks so the player can predict what would be the best next move
- Or maybe a successful block could stun the AI long enough for a counter-strike
- like in the fencing game in wii sports resort :D

That's really cute, I loved the fighting animations :)
But it's really slow on the webversion, making it hard to play :/

Hey ! that's quite impressive for a compo entry nicely done, there is campaign mode, single player, and multiplayer :D, and quite a bit of animations
There is a shortcut to win the game where you can push the opponent and make them get smashed by the falling wall, making the direct fighting necessary. But I know how time runs fast on compo, so can't expect everything to be polished

But very nice entry overall. GG.

Great graphics - loved the characters and the background. Cool animations. Also the music's amazing.

Controls feel pretty responsive - but wish there was more feedback when I hit the opponent.

Took a while for it to click - but I had a great time when it did. Really cool game :)

The game is pretty fun the mechanics are clean, the graphics are nice, I enjoyed it, a little too many buttons for me crammed into a small space but that's a me issue because I can't 2-hand keyboards very well but either way I really liked it!
