Cheese Chase by Raymond Bourke
Cheese Chase is a fast-paced game in which you play as a mouse trying to find blocks of cheese while being chased by spiders.

The game is complete and nearly full featured, including an options page and level select. I am not aware of any bugs that exist in the published build (except for the spiders!). There is no pause menu, so if you want to exit, restart the level, change the options, etc.. you have to win/lose first.
I built the game following all of the compo rules, but I couldn't quite finish it in time, so I had to take the extra day and submit it as a Jam entry instead. I was also hopeful to release a web version but had issues with Godot's export tool. I hope it being available only in .exe format doesn't preclude everyone from giving it a try.
To install and run, just extract the files and double click the .exe file.

UPDATE 10/11:
A few people left some really helpful feedback and identified some bugs - I just swapped out the download to a new version that fixes the issue with the HUD disappearing, getting stuck in the wrong level (removed the prominent "restart level" button that would show up after you win and lock you in), and the music not looping. I also added an alternate download so a .rar and .zip are both available! I am appreciative of all of the other feedback I have received as well but haven't included any other suggestions in this new version for the sake of limiting it to bug fixes only.

Mouse is a little unwieldy, though would probably be too easy otherwise.
Cute graphics.
I agree with what @trogdor-20x6 said about levels progressing automatically. I also found that if you lose a life on one level, the UI doesn't update you back to full lives on the next but the game state does.
The graphics are really cute too.
The gameplay was pretty fun. Took a little while to get used to the inertia when moving, but it gave a neat feel to the game. Drifting through a pack of spiders to snatch up the last cheese was a pretty good feeling too.
Its easy to take menus for granted, but they were very nicely executed here.
Maybe the UI could have been a bit bigger? I didn't notice the hearts until the second level. I also couldn't help but feel like the game lacked a bit of player agency and choice. It's fun to kite mobs, but what if there were pickups that altered the way the mouse moved, or the spiders chased you?
Overall, nice entry! Sorry to hear you missed the Compo deadline, but this is a solid Jam!
One small "bug" - it seems the music stops playing after a while.
The graphics are really cute (I liked the fact that I wasn't too stressed by the atmosphere  ). I would have liked a bit more music in the game, but that's ok.
I couldn't get past level 4 (too many spiders!!), but I think I was a bit uncomfortable with the mouse movement, which felt like sliding across the floor (like on an ice rink): it gives a funny effect, but it's hard to master, especially as there's no dodge/sprint command.
Otherwise, the game goal is very clear and the level design seemed simple and effective. A great jam game!
As others have said, it would be cool to go straight from one level to the next, but that's just a detail. I was more disturbed by the music, which imo doesn't really fit with the spooky ambiance of the game.
But still, that's some great work. The art is great, and the game is really fun!
