Well, it came down to the wire, but I managed to complete and submit my second-ever LD Compo entry!

Blood, Sweat, and Taxes

Farming, with a twist!

Take on the role of a farmer doing their best to earn a living, growing crops, raising animals, collecting resources, crafting products, buying and selling to the local markets, paying taxes, and making sacrifices to the spirits.

Wait, what?

In "Blood, Sweat, and Taxes", it takes more than some elbow grease to run a successful farm. Sometimes, you gotta sacrifice to the native spirits that meddle with your farm to appease them and earn their favors. Ignore them too long and they'll ruin your efficiency and throw tantrums that wreck their shrines, but make sacrifices and upgrade the shrines to gain their boons with better farm efficiency and larger harvests!

Beware the Taxman!

The Taxman is a government official with one goal: to take your hard-earned money or seize the land your farm is on for the government! Pay his taxes regularly, or he'll shut down your farm permanently and kick you out. Stay on top of his increasing tax demands long enough and gain the coveted Tax Exempt status to ensure your farm remains in your hands forever!
