Reflecting on this and future Compo jams

First off, I'm very excited about how my compo entry came together this year: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/memory-dive

I find as I do these game jams more and more, I have a better idea of the types of games I want to make and do music for. More narrative stuff, maybe with some gameplay to break up the narrative. I think after this compo where 90% of its setup was story and narrative systems over the small gameplay portion, it's SO easy to get tunnel vision and think "for this to be a game I have to make it X or y!"

I saw they might be changing how the compo or game jam works? I hope the changes still keep the idea of doing a project by myself exciting, in such a short amount of time. If anything, I'd enjoy the compo if it was 3 days instead, more time to take breaks and polish things.
