I'm in - and a pro tip for theme voting
After sitting out the last two, I'm in for 14th go around at Ludum Dare. Toolchain is same as it ever was:
- Engine: Unity 20whatever.whatever
- IDE: VSCode
- Graphics: Adobe Photoshop
- Sound: Cockos REAPER, Chiptone, some synths and guitar
- Source Control: GitHub
Now that we're in the final round of theme voting, I wanted to share a lesson I've learned from 13 Ludum Dares: when you're voting on themes, don't just think about what it will be like to make a game, but also what it will be like to play 100 other games using the same theme.
A good theme isn't an instruction, or a rule, or a gameplay mechanic. A good theme is a creative prompt.
