Day 2 - Not as bad it looks...
So I'm really happy with day 2 progress, even though this screenshot looks ROUGH as hell:

I'm still working on my "turn-based real-time strategy game" hybrid thing. Yesterday I got the core functionality working, today I had to build a lot of additional RTS mechanics to give the game even as an MVP enough depth for the player to need to make interesting choices.
So now we have resource gathering, a variety of player and enemy types and the need for base building to unlock units and spawn near them.
There is three main things I need to do tomorrow to make this a shippable game: - Path-finding - Right now things just float over each other but thankfully I have a pretty hacky brute force method to fix this without spending the whole day on it - Scenario design - At the moment it's just a bunch of test objects and I'm testing the interactions between them. Tomorrow I need to turn this into a single interesting scenario to explore the mechanics I've built. I've got notes on what I need to do. - Graphics - It's all been placeholder up until now but I'm going to be using Oryx' 16-bit Scifi pack to make this look appealing.
I think that's all achiveable with one more day and if I get those three done I've got a wishlist beyond that.
