Let’s get it started
Hello everyone!
I woke up this morning to find that the theme is Tiny World. I can’t say I was particularly impressed by this theme when it came up in voting. It’s taken the entire morning to figure out where I want to go with this. As per usual, the idea comes to me in the shower. The thought process went like this:
“Okay, a tiny world. Hmm. I’ve always been fascinated by the really intricate scenes created in snowglobes. Ooh! Snowglobes! Perhaps the worlds could be snowglobes on a shelf, and somehow you travel between the worlds to do stuff. Now that’s good, but it’s quite linear. I’m not good at artwork, that’s going to take quite a while. Ah, I know. Keep it simple, stupid! Each world is not just a level – it is its own game!
I’m doing tiny worlds, Wario Ware style.”
Awesome. So the connection to the theme is that all of these tiny worlds will be part of a large range of science experiments, and you do science by completing each experiment. I’ve thought of a couple of different “worlds” so far, and stuck them on my Kanban board:
The first thing I am focusing on is creating a way to handle the transitions to all of these games. On the “Not Done” list is a couple of the world ideas I have had so far, and also the meta world. It will be the responsibility of the meta world to transition to each mini-world.
To the Visual Studio!
