What a December!
Man.
This was my first Ludum Dare, and I’d been looking forward to it for a long time. I was not at all disappointed. I surprised myself by making not just one but two games in less than 12 hours total, and this month has been crazy productive for me outside of this weekend as well.
Pardon my self-promotion, but this month I also finished another game and two totally playable prototypes (which I won’t link to, as– though they’re feature-complete as far as I originally conceived they would be– I’m not sure they’re done). And it’s not even three weeks in!
I’m incredibly satisfied, and I also feel great knowing that so much creativity just explodes all over the internet in a Ludum Dare weekend. Even only having played a few games and interacting with a few developers, it’s just such an immensely positive force. I won’t say I wish Ludum Dare was every weekend (I think that’d make it less exciting), but I’m eagerly looking forward to the next one.
Also, incalculable thanks are in order to the people behind FlashPunk and SFXR, who make making things a lot easier than they could be.
And thanks to the organizers of LD48, of course!
