Second Time
The first time was great. Well, maybe not for those playing, but I did learn how not to design a game. Being more technically inclined, I was always thinking about how I could make sure there was room for expanding the game as I worked on it. Building it up in the last five hours was working much better for me, but it was too little to late and I had already had too much sleep as well. This weekend was meant for working on another project, but I figured that it can wait.
I’ll be using:
Language: C++
Platform: Linux
Tools
Editor: gVim
Compiler: GCC
Version Control: Git
3D: Blender
2D: GIMP
Audio: Linux Multimedia Studio
I have a Git repository here for my entry, which will contain a simple Hello World window until the competition starts. In addition to this, I shall be using my Open Source engine (well, more of a piston in an engine right now) ZED to aid in speeding up development.
Continuous Integration is handled by an instance of Jenkins here. Builds will be available from here (unstable) or here (stable) for the Linux version.
In addition, I may be using Twitch to stream my progress. I use a 1200×1920 monitor for my code and a 1920×1080 for testing the game, so I’m not sure which monitor would be most interesting.
Good luck everyone and have fun!
