Revival of a Dead Planet finished!

I’m done with my Jam game.  You can play it here:

>Revival of a Dead Planet<

The game is a 3D action-adventure game where you play an explorer visiting an alien world.  On that world, you find an ancient alien facility. In order to operate the doors, you’re going to have to restore power to the energy circuits.  However, doing so will also power up the facility’s security systems.

This was a really fun project to work on.  Something that is very interesting to me in games is making the player the agent of their own hardship.  The last time I did Ludum Dare (4 years ago!), I made basically a “reverse metroidvania” game where you have to give up your powerups in order to progress.  In this game, in order to progress you must make your environment more dangerous.  There are also a few points where I give the player a choice of how they make their environment more dangerous.  And, of course, I worked some verticality into the game (Once you enter the facility, look down.  You can see the final room all the way from the top floor).  I didn’t fit all my initial ideas into the game, but all in all, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
