Now that the voting has ended, it's time to share a sneak peak of one of the new mini games added in the post jam version of our game The Assessment!
What will this mini game be about? Stay tuned to find out!

"Here’s the plan ladies…we hit the bank tomorrow…Gina, you’re the bait.
Your job is to distract the cops for as long as possible while we rob the place. You'll inevitably be caught. But the longer you run, the more we get…
See you on the other side…"
We finished our Extra game! We added a bunch of stuff: - Flashing lights - An ocean - Helicopter patrol - A Mall Cop - GO starting sequence - Criminality score
Congrats to @antti-haavikko and PUNKCAKE for winning The Jam and Compo!
And the big five-oh has ended!
Did you join us for the live results? Let me know what you thought about it in the comments below.

Shout-out to PomoTheDog, MarcMagus, HonestDanGames, Aarimous, badcop_, potkirland, and Crefossus for streaming!

Congratulations everyone! You made a game!

October 1st fell on a Saturday, but no big deal, we'll do LD51 on September 30th instead.

I'm thrilled to announce that Akamai Technologies has sponsored Ludum Dare. Also, we'll be using their services to improve our infrastructure! Be sure you come back in September to see what we've done. Will game embedding make it's triumphant return?
Akamai also recently acquired Linode, our server host for the past 7 years. Nice!
I was a big fan of Linode before, and the two companies really compliment each other with their offerings. I'm extremely excited to see what we can do with Akamai and Linode helping us out. :cloud: :cloud_lightning: :cloud:
Press release here.

We're not done yet, but what an amazing run so far. I'm extremely excited about the potential for Extra, and how it might change or shape Ludum Dare in the future.
Thank you for being a part of this!
We will see you again in September/October. :ghost:
Hello everyone, Congrats to the winners of the jam!
I am a bit confused about why my game did so poorly, I know it's not the best but it placed a bit lower than I expected. I would really appreciate it if some people could play the game and give their honest, extra critical reviews of it so I know what to improve on in the future: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/inevitable-seige
Thanks!
So, our game Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate got 1st place in the Jam category.
uh...
I'm feeling super proud to be a part of this game! Benjamin, Pentadrangle and myself have given our all for it, it feels so good to see it has paid off beyond our expectations!
As it happens, by pure coincidence, totally not a calculated move, we just released the post-jam version of the game earlier today! It adds new game modes, a boss fight, a reworked interface, a whole bunch of new cards, moats, pikemen, magic wands... everything Chess could need basically. :smirk: We hope it piques your interest!
This is what the first level looks like on the new version - of course the crazier stuff happens later in the game...
It's been a crazy day, so as we say on here, I'm gonna go get some sleep!
Thank you again! If you're not gonna get the post-jam version of the game, I still hope you try the jam version anyway, it's really fun on its own too!!
:sparkling_heart:
Thank you to everyone who played and rated our game! It's still hard to comprehend the amount of amazing art people have submitted. We're still working on improving the game so stay tuned! My review comment under Claustrowordia proves I have the gift:

And if I'd have played Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate I'm 100% sure just from looking that I would have also left a similar prediction.
Don't worry, I promise only to use my powers for good.
...Any betters around LD51 need a tip just DM me. :moneybag:

Can someone answer me the Question: Why I didn't get any results?
Like i had over 20 Votes and even then there should be a heading called result.
What did i wrong?

Now I am sad:(

Maybe I misunderstood but I thought Extra games would still have the ratings results posted as well? I saw that we got ratings from our feedback but a little odd the ratings just all average to 0.
I was cautiously hoping to get to top 200 on one category and I am very glad that I got to 26th on innovation!! I also managed to make a post jam version this time. There are no huge improvements, but some minor adjustments (some that I wish I managed to get on the actual jam)
Huge thank you to all who played and commented on my game, and thank you for all the feedback. I will try to keep everything in mind for the next game :)

Much better. I feel like I'm back on form. Strong ratings across the board, and a 3.7/5 for graphics in particular is a high point to take away from this.
One last time: a massive thank you to everyone who played The Flower of Marasca, rated it, and reviewed it. You give me the drive to keep developing, and keep improving.
The Flower of Marasca is probably at the end of its lifecycle, but if you want to see more from me, my retro bullet hell game Prism Indigo is planned for release on May 20th. Follow me on Twitter for occasional dev updates as the time approaches.
I managed to get 317th in theme with my game - UADS : https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/u-a-d-s-untitled-asteroid-defence-simulator
Thank you to everyone! Thanks to you I'll continue on joining LD's and I'll keep trying all the awesome games here.
Keep on being creative!!!

It was not only my first Ludum Dare, but my first really big game jam at all. I glad i decided to participate in Compo even with me have almost no experience in Unity, and i'm really excited that my game Way before death managed to get even 218th place. It's really important for me. I'm sure i will come back here for Ludum Dare 51 to get more serious results.
Thank you everyone, and good luck!

Hello! We found something hilarious go check it out: https://twitter.com/YudiGames1/status/1517419616309555200?s=20&t=DiCj_SPjF7rzyS-WYrG6ZA
Hi all !
Last ludum dare I worked my own stats system based on the ludum dare public API. See https://imgur.com/a/oCH7Jrq for all graphs.
X axis : Grade spread on 16 slices
Y axis : Number of games in the slice
Hope you find those cold graphs it interesting
We were proud of https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/wicked-flame and thought we had a change to be in the top 100, but 14th place ??? Holy crap that's amazing, thank you everyone!

Not mentioning our places in fun and innovation that are as good, and our very correct placement in the rest, we're very happy!
