Ludum Dare 51

I'm In!

I've been wanting to do this jam forever, and now I finally will!

My tools: - Godot Engine - VSCode - Aseprite - Paint.net - FL Studio

Good luck to everyone else participating, I can't wait to see what everyone makes!

Ah yes time managment

I just spent almost an hour hand-drawing normal maps for a tileset... which occludes everything that shines on it. I have officially wasted more time than I can afford.

Day 1 progress!

This is my first ever Ludum Dare, as well as my first Compo! Having a ton of fun so far.

So far I've created...

  • A system that transitions levels
  • My first level
  • My player player.gif
  • A message that appears if you don't move within five seconds of starting the game
  • Lighting
  • A normal map that won't be used because it's an object that occludes
  • My main mechanic

Looking forward to day 2!

Cutscenes are working!

I now officially have the cutscene system working. Now onto the main mechanic and level design!

Everything but levels finished!

So... this was unexpected. For the first time ever during a game jam, I've finished everything but level design by the halfway mark. I'm quite pleased with myself! The gameplay loop isn't... super interesting, but it's still pretty fun nonetheless.

Good luck to everyone, I can't wait to play all your games!
