Ludum Dare 50

Finally some sleep

After stress-coding for 2 and a half days, and then spending the remaining 8 hours slowly making a UI, the game is finally done.

Someone got so angry at tube delays he decided to blow it up. Help save innocent passengers by, you guessed it, delaying the tube. Link to game: All lines lead to boom

Play it in the browser!

After finishing my game submission at 2:45(AM) this morning, I've in given to sleep, so here I am 10 hours later, posting this.

Boy what a ride.

Who would've thought making a working tube system (and planning the most efficient route) was this technically demanding... (everyone, the answer is everyone)

And who would've thought an efficient tube system doesn't allow for a very long journey between two stations (i had to patch in a second journey 10 hours before the deadline because the system worked too well)

Sadly after doing all that there was no time for any sound, but at least i have a working "menu" and instructions?

I guess i have to work on estimating the scope better if I want to submit for the compo next time..

Anyway, here's my impression of how the game works internally

Mini metro meets m̶RTS

Have you ever played mini metro and just wanted to ride around on one of the trains instead of stressing out about the efficiency of your transport system?

Well now you can! Whilst trying to save civilians from a bomber.. (or not, i'm not here to tell you how to play my game)

Fair warning, it takes a bit of time to figure out the control scheme, but it's definitely worth it

Post jam stuff

I've gone back to the game and smoothed over some of the rougher visual edges it had, so if you want to try the game but it's hard to see where things are, give the post jam version a try, so far the extra stuff is just visual accessibility polish.

Here's what it looks like now (fully zoomed out) with some of the accessibility settings on:

During the jam i would've sworn implementing this would take 5 hours, it took me 1 hour plus the time needed to take screenshots for the in-game manual now. oh well.

Chompus McSnapperson's long game title (now on macOS as well)

We made a platformer based on the game where you can't let the balloon touch the ground.

It's got a very long, fun, and wacky, name.

The plot is that you're a croc-o-gator delivering newborn babies in bubbles to their homes. (The gator's long snout is kinda like your limbs and the baby is like the balloon.. ..it does make sense..)

Obviously the evil lazy storks try to steal the babies and take all the credit so you need to prevent that.

The game can be found here, so go play it!

Despite the complications with godot export and certain functionality breaking on export we managed to finish in time, and somehow fix most errors. Well aside from the export not working on this website or macOS but I guess that's just how it is.

Oh and we finally managed to fix the MacOS export, so the game can be played if you have a Mac!

First update to our funky game!

We updated our platformer! (which has a wonderfully marvelous long-long title)

We fixed major game-breaking bugs in the jam version so you can play the game without worrying about it messing itself up too much.

For the post-jam version we added some minor updates, so you can kind of just play that but if you want to be strict on the rules, we made it a separate thing!

We fixed some level design so the game shouldn't be annoying and uncompletable now. We added controls to the game so you dont have to have two things open, just open it and play!

We changed the web version to remove all fancy backgrounds so it renders nicely and doesn't display magenta bars all over the place! We also removed a bunch of enemies from one of the levels so the lag should hopefully be gone now.

All levels can be completed! all collectibles can be colected! * Fun * can be had easier than ever before!

We added some daylight to the levels so they're prettier.

So pretty!
