Giraffes

baby-giraffe-735x525.jpg

Did this baby giraffe influence how you felt in ANY way, even if it's just a little bit? And do you like cheesy, witty jokes? Have you been craving a fully 2bit, cute, story-rich, 2d platformer about a baby giraffe going on an adventure to transcend space and time, with a banger of a famitracker chiptune soundtrack and a rhythm minigame as well?

You're not going to believe this!

I have THE game for you.

Giraffe o'Clock

Thank you

Important announcement

Hello everybody!

It's the giraffe guy with an important announcement. After getting much positive feedback on Giraffe o'Clock we've decided to create additional content.

(Giraffe o'Clock the story-rich, dialogue-heavy, giraffe platformer about a baby giraffe who embarks on a platforming journey to transcend space and time through dance)

The content will not continue in the lore set up in the jam game; as who knows, perhaps we'll want to do a full game at some point!

What to expect: - 1 completely new area - 12 new levels - Several new gimmicks - An additional soundtrack - Awful art (Sylbie is back to working on her personal project Eden's Gate, which is an ADORABLE farm sim, so I'll be using the art we already had from the games jam, making anything additional myself hehehe)

When to expect it: Unfortunately, we've no precise release time, but expect it to be out somewhere in the middle of the upcoming week.

Here's a GIF of some SICK Giraffe platforming to get you hyped up a little! World3Platforming.gif

Thank you for reading this announcement.

Giraffe o'Clock fanart!

Hi everybody!

I'm one of the two devs of Giraffe o'Clock and I wanted to announce a little bit of a fanart "competition". Starting as of right now, until the rating period ends, you can submit your fanart either here or as a reply to our LD page. At the end of the rating period, we'll give whoever's fanart we like the most a little goodie. I'm mostly just curious to see what y'all come up with, the little goodie is just an incentive! (Might be a steam gift card but I won't spoil anything hehe)

Also, if you haven't played Giraffe o'Clock yet, give it a go and drop us a comment, much appreciated <3

LD Play & Rate

Hey y'all!

Yesterday I said it'd be my last LD Play & Rate. I lied. I'm doing one more.

No queue right now; drop your link at https://twitch.tv/kepsert

See you there!

Thank you, LD community! (And a small announcement)

Hello! It's me again, Giraffe o'Clock 's dev! I just wanted to drop a massive thank you to the LD community. As I've mentioned in a feed before, I've been struggling with depression for a long time - as LD was about to begin I was just about climbing out of my last episode, not quite in the mindset to do anything at all, and I didn't quite want to participate. Instead, I powered through and decided to see what I could do.

72 hours later there was Giraffe o'Clock, which is now nearing 200 received ratings and more plays on itch than I could've ever imagined when I started working on it as just silly fun project. On top of that, watching a lot of people play this game and getting great enjoyment out of this has really done me well, and I appreciate you all! It's been very motivational and helpful to me!

Thank you to all those who have tried Giraffe o'Clock over the past weeks - whether you loved it or not, I appreciate everybody who gave it a try throughout these weeks.

With that said; this entire thing has gotten me motivated to hop straight into the next game project - inspired and encouraged by the LD community as a whole. Today I made an (albeit very bad) introduction GIF - and I therefore want to share it with y'all first! Opening Cutscene.gif

More information will be released over time (twitter and itch, but I can assure you, this game is not going to be what you think it might be <3

Have a lovely final few ratings days, everybody!

Team Giraffe's Favourites

Hey everybody! I'm just stopping by to drop off some of my favourite games this LD, that really stood out to me and had me pulled into their game, had me come back for more! The list is going to be unordered. Perhaps you'll find some overlooked gems in there!

Jailbound Joyride by @Saondberg and @Amberfall92 - Straight up amazing aesthetics, both visually and through audio. Sweet little arcade-like high score chasing game that had me addicted immediately. Played this on stream way longer than I should have, then went back for more on several occasions.

Extremely Extreme Sports by @Kuviman . Lovely submission, great fun especially with some friends. As I told Kuvi himself, I love how he's not trying to make a visually pleasing/audio genius game, but a game that people will have fun with and oh how did he succeed! On top of that, I actually took a HUGE liking to the paint art, but also the audio/sfx.

Wormageddon EXTREMELY fun bossrush-like roguelike. Learn attack patterns, dodge them, while gathering coins to buy upgrades, as the worm boss gets different abilities every stage. Great art, great audio, great gameplay, great entry!

Cleric Wanted by @Garazbolg2 . One of the games I considered a hidden game. Great oldschool gaming vibes with gameplay that pulled me in more and more until I finally beat the game. Somewhat unique gameplay. Lovely!

It's cold I am dead by @papabirb Okay this game is such a meme, I just can't help but love it. No explanation, just play it!

Carpe Diem by @Arthurds . Addicting, high speed, platforming game where you have to rush through tubes of platformers and random obstacles without hitting anything to avoid being slowed down. The game just feels so good when you get the hang of it.

Seed of Time by @frozendoze , @mirando , @kage , @thestoff I love myself some bullet hell so I can't help but like this one. AMAZING visuals as well on top of very responsive controls. If you like tough bullet hell games, give this one a shot!

I hope some people on here find similar enjoyment in these games as I found!

Good luck and have fun tonight, everyone! <3

Very important message

Hello,

I'm here to share with you a very important message. My friend who is completely new to games and also game jams is participating with us in her very first game jam ever. She's very nervous about her art so I'm just here to show off the main menu (work in progress) art she's made so far.

Thank you for reading this very important message.Main Menu Art.jfif

Important notice

Hello,

I just wanted to share you my teammate's, Moon.Eventide, concept art for one of our screens. I think it looks pretty cool while it also shows some of our game's progress without spoiling what's going on!

Holospecter Speedruns!?

Hey all!

I'm Kepsert from team Manners Maketh Game. This jam we got together a lovely band of people and we created a (puzzle/stealth) platformer called Holospecter. Many different soundtracks, quite some levels, a lot of illustrations and oldschool pixelart in a neat colour palette... but most of all! A speedrun mode.

CurrentWorldRecord.PNG

4:14

Can you beat my best time!? Good luck!

Holospecter speedrun mode!

It's been a few days and I heard some of the people in this community have been trying to speedrun our game Holospecter (a 2D platformer with both a little stealth mechanics and some puzzling to be done!). Currently my time is 4:14 as the best dev time, while @MelekTaus has scored a 4:59. Can you do better? Show us your final times in here! Also, have you found the dash cancel yet, allowing you to wave dash? It's pretty cool!

4 Souls 2 Reap Speedrun

What's Manners Maketh Game platformer without a speedrun mode?

Speedrun.PNG

No dialogue, no cutscenes, built-in timer that only runs when the player is actually playing levels!

The current world record stands at 3 minutes and 57 seconds. What time can you get!?

EDIT: I just accidentally beat the previous World Record; 3:50 is the new record!
