Ludum Dare 51

Seems like I'm not good at my own game.

This is my first Ludum Dare, so I just getting used to the flow.

I hope somebody will find fun that you need to adapt to controls every 10 seconds.

Really nice to see all the people around that also make their best.

And thanks to all streamers for the company)

Basicly, every 10 seconds either your shoot side or game view mirrors. Your goal is to beat the final boss, a 20-sided dice that belongs to an evil mage who turned you into a hexagon.

To be honest, I've just made something that lived in my mind for some time. The theme fits genre and mechanics so well. It's pretty confusing to figure out your controls and orientation when the rules are constantly changing every 10 seconds.

Hope you'll enjoy it.

Good luck!

It's done. What's Next?

What a journey, huh! :confettiball: :gamedie: :fire:

The last two days have been very eventful and stressful. But I really liked the development of Switcheroo. Top-down shooter mechanics are not new for me and I knew approximately what and how to do. But I'm still pleasantly surprised at how everything fits together very harmoniously.

Thanks to everyone who has already played and shared their opinion, I really really appreciate it all. Looking forward to finishing this post and trying out all of YOUR games. I have already tried some of them: complex and simple, beautiful and experimental. It inspires me to see so many creative ideas and their implementation.

So what's next?

I have already seen a few shortcomings in my game and came up with a few ideas that could complement it very well.

I am very glad that people like this game and would really like to continue its development.

Do you think it's worth it?

I'm really happy with the game that I developed during the contest. :confettiball: :fire: :gamedie:

Actually I think I'd like to start making a full-sized game and try to devlog.

So here's the introducing post of devlog:

Stay tuned!

This is where we are

So after a long, long wait for final results I finally see what I have. Don’t know if I’m happy with that, but I guess for first entry and even in Compo this is pretty good. Thank you, LD, for the opportunity to create something that I want to finalise and show to world. See you in LD52 and devlogs of Switcheroo! 0822C401-7CB8-465A-8133-582B614A96EB.jpeg

🪝🪝🪝 Hi! We're ready to present our game! You can try it right now on itch.io and you can download its Windows version.

It's been such a fun journey to work through the weekends with friends sitting in one room, spending these two days in a row listening to System of a Down and Taylor Swift while thinking and talking games! It felt great coming up with a concept, developing art style and making the game. Can't wait for the next Ludum Dare to repeat it!

Just another reminder

Thank you very much for your games, it was really fun LD this time. This was my very first time to participate in my own team and we've learnt a lot from it.

Our game already has all the voting ratings needed, but you still can try it!
