LD26

I’m in.

From sunny Łódź, Poland, straight from the crowdy center of the city, Blue Brick team has it’s final hours before the Ludum Dare weekend. We expect to have 5-8 contestants and are mostly focused on a pure dare challenge. One man vs. a random theme. Who will survive?

My name is Piotr and I go by the nick 3.14 but also known as zxc. I will make a game this weekend.

My tools of choice are:

1)Flashdevelop

2)Gimp

3)Audacity

4)Something for the music, not yet decided

5)My own simple framework. Check it out at pioiwan.com/LDframe, download at pioiwan.com/LDframe/LDframe.rar. It contains:

-simple game screen management

-sfx through packed bfxr.

-simplified text rendering

-simple buttons

-simple save game system

-a preloader

Nothing fancy, these are stuff I always used in small 3h game jams. I either written these stuff from scratch or written them exacly the same way. So it compiled this framework for my game. It doesn’t give unfair advantage as it is much simpler than Flixel or FlashPunk for instance.

I will make a screencast and encourage all the guys on site to do the same.

Good luck to you all and may this not be my last post here.

Starting out here in Lodz, Poland

Straight from Blue Brick HQ in sunny Lodz, Poland, we are just starting out. We have 6 compo-ters so far and our quest begins as we are stacked with snacks and ideas and coffee and energy drinks. Let’s go.

My idea:

1)Zelda RPG with blocks

2)TWIST in the middle

3)Story, dialogues, grind

Let’s see how far I can go with it and what will be dropped :). My hopes for TWIST are high, but I’m not sure of the tech. Screencast will be coming.

Description:

You are an alchemist, trapped eternally inside of your little potion-brewing kiosk - The Alchemist's Prison.

For all eternity, you are stuck inside of your own small world, selling magical concoctions to the adventurers, royalty and peasantry of the land.

Throw ingredients into your cauldron and brew them together, selling the resulting infusions to your customers as they request them!

Features:

  • Randomly-generated customers with hundreds of possible sprites and hundreds of thousands of names.
  • Each customer also has one of many voices and attitudes towards you as a shopkeeper!
  • Eight different potions, each with a normal and large-sized variant.
  • Each potion is made up of a combination of five or ten ingredients, and must be mixed at the correct temperature.
  • An atmospheric ambient noise track that will keep you immersed in the game!

Don't forget to leave a comment if you enjoyed it or if you have any feedback for me! :)

Please help me to get my game over 20 ratings so I'm applicable for a place on the Ludum Dare leaderboards! :)

Ludum Dare 53

DRIVE FAST. EAT ASS.

End of day one for me! Very happy with progress so far. IT FEELS JUICY.

I can practically feel the Eurobeat music in my veins.

https://youtu.be/aRKTk16z6oE HYPER DORIFTO!!!!

Not 100% sure on the theming just yet, but expect to have make some DELIVERIES in STYLE :sunglasses:

My kingdom for a handful of votes!

Howdy everyone! A potent combination of illness and slacking dealt me a (hopefully not fatal) blow to my efforts to rate other peoples' games this time around, but it's not too late!

If anyone would mind spending a couple of minutes to rate my game, I would be deeply - endlessly - grateful.

Thank you all!! Comment down below and I'll see if I can give your game a playeroni too
