Some really good themes
But why so many about water birds?
But why so many about water birds?
This is my first time doing a Ludum Dare and I entered my themes 2 hours before slaughter began.
I've gone though the slaughter round already and there were SO MANY DUPLICATES!
so many about water birds, just the word "Arcane" or "Magic" tons of "reverse time." and then just stuff like "don't go backwards" "keep running" "time is money."
I'm kind of surprised there isn't an filter to check the entries with the exact same word, I was starting to think I was being tricked "did you reallllly want to do a game about Time being your enemy"

I hear some youtubers call it Dowry like a wedding dowry, or is it Dare like I dare you to make a game
For either jam or compo, is it 48 hours straight or can it be broken up? Luke 12 hours a day?
heyo, is there a way to re view the slaughter list, not like vote again but actively look over all the entries? I know voting is supposed to start soon ish but I just wanted to get a list to show friends who are asking questions.

time to start being a bit more vicious, I looked at the options and looked at what I had noted down for Ideas and these are the ones I think would be the most fun to make.
note: Limited visibility DOES NOT MEANT TOTAL AND COMPLETE DARKNESS! ... I don't want to play a hundred games in pitch black.

Cleaned up and ready to go.
First Jam I'm super excited, getting all my thoughts collected, things I want to learn and do that I have time that apply to basically everything at once rather than just the game I intend to make, not like premade assets or anything but things like how to make an iso camera, basics of shaders and the like.
Tools for this jam - Unity - Blender - Photoshop - Bebop
One of the big things I want to get out of this jam and really the whole point is a test of my abilities, I've dipped into game dev a few times in the past but never got far with it, and now I've been making a proper game for the last 2 months, but I don't honestly know where I sit with my skills as I'm constantly improving and have very little footage or examples of what I was like at the start of the project.
anyway, I hope everyone has a fantastic Jam and a good time
1 hour to submission and I took an extra hour just to organize all my stuff, but how do i know if my game is submitted correctly?
there are some really beautiful games on the home page, hell yeah go jammers
I’ve been making my way through a bunch of the compo/jam games, theres been a few really good and a few really bad, but for the most part everything has been enjoyable even the bad ones lol.
I want to keep playing to get inspiration and see what you all have done but sleep calls me.
the last comment on my game is mine from 11 hours ago and I woke up to 36 notifications some of them are comments on the game but I can't see them
how do we handle updates for none gameplay stuff, I don't want to change how the game plays but I would like to add more to the UI to actually explain the controls is that a thing we're allowed to do for compo games?
Hello all, I’m curious when the next jam will be? I think I saw something at some point saying the September long weekend just curious if I should start prep?

now I told myself I would cap out at 100, then for the last 100 themes I would take it slow incase there were any that really popped, 1 did.
though thinking back there were maybe 4 in total that really popped to me, next time I'll probably cut myself down to 25 keeps.

For me.
Clean my desk
A nice long walk
Buy some energy efficient snacks nothing that will make me crash.
Premake dinner so I can just microwave it.
about an hour before start I'll shave and shower.
lastly prepare a game dev playlist on spotify.
