The problem with making a disco game is that I can't focus while I dance

Pros - "bar" is actually a good variable name - it's so satisfying to watch someone win the level on beat :metal: - forced me to pick back that music software I left unattended for 10 years - Dance! :man_dancing: - Dance! :dancer: - Disco! :star:
Cons
- my dyslexic friend can't play
- machine-dependent audio delay throws the game out of sync for some players. Some game engines can help with compensating said delay if you manage to implement that within the jam, which I didn't. As a result, for some people the level starts on bar 4 instead of bar 1. Welp, there goes that carefully thought-out difficulty curve...
- mapping inputs to the keyboard was hard!
Remappable inputs could have helped. If I had managed to implement that within the jam. Which I didn't.
- forced me to pick back that music software I left unattended for 10 years
- dancing makes it harder to code the game
