I'm in!

I have school Monday, should the rest of weekend is clear so I should be able to finish a game. Hopefully this time I'll go for something smaller in scope and finish it.

I'll be using the Haxe programming language with Kha for cross platform graphics, sounds etc. Pyxel edit for any pixel art, affinity designer for any vector stuff. FL Studio/Sunvox/something else for music. Chronolapse for my timelapse, spotify and noisli for listening. Tiled for map editing. Licecap, OBS and greenshot for progress sharing.

Good luck folks!

School tomorrow, so here's my LD38 release, spaceworm!

You can play it at https://5mixer.itch.io/spaceworm, game uploads aren't up yet. I hope I can submit it into the compo after school tomorrow :o

The game is essentially about defending a tree in space as a worm in a semi-rogue like fashion. Enjoy!

Instructions: 'Steer' with left/right, move forwards/progress the game with up. Evil space worms will try to destroy the sacred tree on the right side of the island, but they have to get through you. You're invinceble, but the tree is not. Pickup spell books to get either the wall or bomb spell. To use the spell, hold shift and move around. When you're done, let go of shift and the spell will be cast.

The enemies should spawn more and more frequently, see how long you can last. Thanks for playing!

The game works best on chrome I think, it kinda broke firefox for me.

I'm traveling around Australia on a six week trip, have barely any wifi and have to use a car battery to charge my laptop. Let's see how this goes!

Usual tools, haxe, kha, pyxel edit, etc.

Ludum Dare 54

Tower builder/minion management/farming game

Place rooms, beds, mushroom farms, etc. Beds create minions, who automatically run around doing tasks like harvesting mushrooms. Rooms won't be free, so you'll be limited in the space you have to place things. They also need sleep when it's night time - so they'll run to their beds then.

Very much going to run out of time, but my todo list looks like great fun, so I may actually keep working on it after the compo.
