Ludum Dare 53

I'm in

been a while since i made a thing good time to try and do it. Good luck everyone, Have fun!

Delivery?

hrrm...what can we do with that.

Stand and Deliver

Couldn't come up with anything for the theme last night so i went to sleep woke up with the idea stand and deliver. So either you're getting ambushed by highwaymen or you have a jojo style stand. maybe both.

alignment

ldjam53screenshot001.png Have a little turn based system going. The text needs some love though. Calculations and damage are happening though and i started early with making sure i could build an executable that would run on another computer so have that out of the way.

you ever...

publish your game then realize immediately after a quick thing you could have done to make it better before you took all the steps to make an executable?

To Whom it may concern

Screenshot_16.png Since we've got a delivery theme how about a fireball spell labeled to whom it may concern?

Complexity

I want to make this a bit more interesting. Right now you kind of do the same things over and over again.

Simple addition to make decisions mean something is to take away claw's random targeting and let you choose which enemy to target.

Next steps are probably do that, make the breath weapon have a cooldown, and tone down the damage on "To whom it may concern"(fireball).

It's pretty fun seeing multiple folks blow up at once though. maybe leave fireball damage as it and just add a sound effect.

It feels like it wants victory music but i'm not sure how I would go about that.

sidetracked

What i should have been doing: add a way to target specific enemies with the claw attack

What i did instead: make an opening dialogue and add voice sounds.

lets make some games!

Planar collapse

I'm going with a slowly collapsing plane of existance for how i'm dealing with the theme. I've been wanting to learn react so instead of a game engine I'm doing this with reactjs. got a initial thing building and up here: https://lathomas64.github.io/ldjam54/
