Greetings
I’m in 😀
Excited as always.
Even though I planned to create a web game this time using HTML5 or Flash, I will be using the usual homebrewn Java game engine. Javascript is a pretty weird language for a fan of static typing, and Flash doesn’t really work with Linux.
So the tools I will be using are:
Engine: DiLogic (Quite the mess at the moment)
IDE: IntelliJ IDEA
Graphics: Photoshop using my new Wacom Tablet
SFX: SXFR (Duh?)
Music: Either Autotracker or DroneFX
But what the heck is up with the Tower Defense thing?
A great Ludum Dare theme should in my opinion:
- Prevent people from preparing art and game logic before hand. Sure Ludum Dare is just for fun, but the time constraint is a big part of the fun.
- Force people to create games, they would otherwise never think of. The theme constrain makes it a lot easier to come up the unique ideas
So I’m not gonna make a Tower Defense.
But I might include some tower in a bit different way. #LDTO
Good luck to all fellow participants!
And remember to have fun !
