LD23

Count me in!

I’m still uncertain if I will be able to join this event, but I would like to. Here’s the stuff I’m planning in using for this project!

For the audio, I might use LMMS for the music and Audacity for some sound effects as well as SFXR.

I will use GIMP for my graphics and Eclipse for my IDE.

I am also planning in programing my entry in Java using slick2d.

LD24

Zanzlanz, if it will make you happy, I’m in.

I just don’t know if I will finish the game in time like the last 3 ludum dares I failed to finish. I guess I need to make a very basic design and a very basic engine… I keep trying to do crazy stuff.

Count me in.

Tools:

Eclipse

SFXR

Gimp

Paint.NET

LMMS / ProToolsSE

Audacity

Language:

Java

IDE:

Slick2D – LWJGL

Wish I could join :/

Sadly, I cannot join this LudumDare. We’re celebrating my brothers birthday today and tomorrow I won’t really have time. To bad because I was really looking forward to it! :/ Oh well, maybe next time. At least it’s not like I’m not working on a game at the moment. I’ve been working really hard on this game called Fault. It’s a little 2d sandbox game like minecraft / terraria. :) It’s still in very early stages but it’s actually playable!

Check it out!

Way to go Ghost! Awesome game! Hell of a future I’d say! Keep up the great work!

I’m in!

I decided to join the LudumDare. I know there’s only 8 hours left but hey, I don’t need to make an insane game right? Just something basic and fun! :)

Concept idea:

– Reach the potato at the end of each level to go to the next level.

– Either have a timer or maximum jump amount.

That’s it really! Wish me luck :)

Good luck Ghosty!!!! You’ll make it majestically well!

Timelapse video!

I made a timelapse video of my Ludum Dare entry that I made in 7 hours! Check it out if you feel like it. :)

LD gameplay video. :)

I doubt people really care but since my video is related to my Ludum Dare entry, I’ll just post a link here.

So yeah, I recorded me playing my game “Jumper” which I coded in 7 hours and made a gameplay video. 😛 This is a newer version of my game where I added more levels, tweaked them and made somewhat better graphics but nothing in the code dramatically  changed.

You can also download my game from my website.

If you want the older version *The Ludum Dare release*, you can get it from here

People playing my game! (Made in 7 hours)

Some awesome people played my LD entry. Go check their gameplay video out :)

IGP’s gameplay on jumper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhUwiXqJVpc
DAstewardKIDZ’s gameplay on jumper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7-oDHFGaII
My gameplay video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1iZdoysB14

For those who don’t know IGP (Indie Game Promoter), he promotes indie games. His goal is to show to the world what regular programmers can make! His channel is still fairly new and there is still lots he wants to add to it but hey, it’s growing fast. So yeah, send him a request to play your game, a link to download it and he will make a gameplay video on it

I’m in (only got 5 hours to complete this…)!

Well, even though I’m late, I’m in. I’ll be gone tomorrow and it’s already 6pm where I live, so that leaves me about 5-6 hours of programming before I must go.

Idea:

– Plat former, randomly generated, infinite world, checkpoints (10 seconds each).

This game will be made in Java using Slick2D. Wish me luck! :)

Thank you :)

3 hours of work.

Well, I’ve been coding for 3 hours straight (actually 3 hours and 1 second) and got quite a few things done! Here’s the list:

1. Basic game engine

2. Infinite world generator

3. Player WITH collision detection (and jumping).

4. A few basic graphics (All temporary)

I actually surprised myself because I just decided to join the LD competition 3 hours ago and already got this much stuff done. I mean the game is already playable! It’s also my first successful attempt at making an infinite world generator. LD27 entry thus far

11 hours of work!

So here’s around 11 hours of work! I got a player that can walk around, basic enemies, tiles (You can interact with them), lighting, collision and multiple levels! This game will be an RPG styled dungeon crawler game (a little inspired by The Legend of Zelda) .

ldSoFar

Tomorrow I plan on adding more enemies,  items, levels and making a final boss! Wish me luck,
