First Ludum Dare

This is gonna be my first Ludum Dare. I’ll be entering the jam, not the compo, because that’s how I roll. An I supposed to tell you what I use? It’ll be Game Maker 8.1. Probably going to use my existing 121 platformer object library as a base.  I may use some Photoshop CS4 or Microsoft Paint, as well as SFXR.

That is, if both a) I have the time (it’s the end of the semester!), and 2) I feel like working with the final theme. Truth be told, I really have no interest in making STEAMPUNK ROBOT SPACE APOCALYPSE or anything like it.

I’m John D. Moore, by the way.  I’m an oldibe ZZTer and current hobbyist game maker, who recently contributed 25 games to Glorious Trainwrecks’s Pirate Kart V.  I’m preparing my first two larger-scale game projects for release by the end of the summer.

EDIT: I gave up on submitting to LD23, but here’s the thing that almost was my LD23 entry: Super Sister-Finding Adventure World

Tentatively in!

In for the jam so long as I have an idea that suits the theme that I actually want to make.

It’ll be my first actual LD participation!

Will use Game Maker 8.1  GM81 for life, mes amis!

In all likelihood, I’ll be using the 121 platformer toolkit I wrote for GM.  ‘Cause that’s how I roll.

Tentatively in

What’s up, y’all?  If I can find a few hours on Sunday and I find the theme interesting/inspiring, I’ll be making a game for the jam.  I’ll be using Game Maker 8.1, sfxr, and maybe some public domain MIDIs.
