Hello world LudumDare! this is my first MiniLD

This is the first post of the game I’ll make in MiniLD 49.
Tools I’ll use:

Graphics: Photoshop cs6.
Programming: ActionScript 3 with Flashpunk, IDE: Flashdevelop.
Music: SFXR and Audacity
SO: Windows 8

The provisional title will be The Flappy Gringa.
The Gringa is the name of dog that lives in my university school, she’s very appreciate in the university so I’ll do a game in her honor due she is too old.

My schedule will be:
I have 3 exactly days, starting this Saturday and finishing at 24 hours in Monday
Due University works and my Job, I’ll just work exactly 24 hours during the 3 days,
Saturday: 6 h
Sunday: 13h
Monday: 6h
I hope to finish this game during these days.

Gameplay

I Need to polish the player sprite  but the gameplay its definetively defined in my head and everything is moving on screen.
I had to stop yesterday and today due university and work, my friends are calling me now to make my part in a assignment we have together, I’ll stop and will continue to work some hours tomorrow during the morning and night.
Hope to have some playable game.

Finally I could Finish The Flappy Gringa

I could say I  finished the Game, I couldnt finish the game the 3 days in a row, cause I was busy with University stuff, each day working 1 or 2 hours coding and making graphics stuff.

I think this experience helps me a lot in learning how to draw, not so well, in the tablet, also to learn all the Photoshop  shortcuts and draw quickly, The real days of the MiniLD #49 I was making graphics like a Turtle.

Maybe I’ll post some updates or port it a better version in Android, but until now this is the game I wanted to finished in this MiniLD, I need to follow training for the real Ludum Dare.

MiniLD 50 Resident evil 2 Demake

I always wanted to make a kinda resident evil ps1 game, so this is my oportunity to make it one.

Game will finish when you enter the police station or If you die.

Game characteristics:
-Camera: Top down view, I need to test if I simulate static camera or just use normal scrolling.
-All items, and zombies in the right places.
-Menu similar to the game.
-I don’t know if i can use the same sound effects of the game, In case not, I’ll try to modificate the original sounds with some filter effect.

Tools:
– Ide: Flashdevelop.
-Language: AS3 or Haxe, If I can compile haxe projects.
-Engine: Flixel or Flashpunk if I use AS3, HaxeFlixel if I use Haxe.
-Graphic: Photoshop and GraphicsGale.

Game development Process:
– First define all the game scope: Number of backgrounds, Number of zombies, have all the map with location of items and enemies.
-Second: Writte all list in Trello.
-Third: Start with game design, and game logic aspect.
-Fourth: Start with basic graphics needed to make the gameplay mechanic.
-Fifth: Code Basic game mechanic.
-Sixth: I’ll define all the other stuff in an online list (Public Trello)

I’ll try to finish in 48 hours, In case I can’t reach my goal, I’ ll still develop the game until reach the initial scope.

Hamster panic looooop!

A few note I could not finish it enterely the game as I wanted, but it should have:

A background music. Improvement of the SFXs. VFXs and more feedback. The art of the context of the game. A score system. Positive feedback if you save your hamster. A happy ending for the little hamster :) A bad punishement to you for letting your hamster in such a condition. Dedicated to: Pikachu and Maria who I shared a couple of years of my childhood.
