The Top Down World Of PixleDuck.

Hello We’re PixleDuck.

We are a small team of quite new programmers sitting around listening to strange music and eating pizza. This is our first official Lundum Dare, so thanks for the opportunity.

Okay, so lets cut to the chase. we are a small team of friends coding in python + pygame. We went into the Jam thinking we would make a game where you can move and shoot. But in the theme, you can only do one, so here is our idea. Your Shooting is your movement. In the world of PixleDuck, you have been abducted by the evil corporation of DyeHard ( where you Dye tee-shirts for a living ). So, your in the basement, strapped to an office chair.. with nothing but a pistol in each hand. You have one way to attack, move and survive, get from one side of the room to the other using just the recoil of the gun, take the elevator, get to the top level and find out who locked you down there in the first place…and why.

A very interesting form of movement to say the least!

I can’t wait to see what comes out of this ^-^

the Troubled Waters of Trig

After about a hour and a half of desperately trying to remember what we should of learnt in year 9 mathematics we mannaged to work past the trig and get proper 360 degree movement, after many high fives and yells of joy we got back to work trying to make solid objects that the player cant move though (still currently in progress), we also added a camera so that the player stays in the center of the screen and everything moves accordingly,  it turned out to one of the easiest things so far, so with much success we went to making the first level for our game, thanks to Locky, we have basic level editor but, the difficulty lies in making it work with our main game.

“Mathematics is fun and worth learning.”  I agree with the second part.

Taking a break!

After a solid few hours of making sprites, its off to facebook.
