It’s On Like Gates of Zendocon
I am going to make my Ludum Dare debut using a combination of Game Maker 7, GIMP, archive.org and whatever free sound effect archives I stumble upon. And possibly a microphone and camera too, who knows?
My plan is to spend tomorrow morning preparing my workspace and start immediately after lunch. Saturday afternoon will be devoted to coming up with ideas and trying to hack something playable together; by Sunday morning I will have slept on the matter and refined my ideas; Sunday afternoon will involve polishing up the finished product, and then Monday morning will be an official period of gratuitous self-promotion.
Also I’m going to hit Klik of the Month Klub on Saturday night. This will make a fine intermission if I figure out how to record timelapses.
The first time I fired a ball off and the highlighted paddle changed, I mistakenly throught I was waiting for the ball to come across and that it would fade in at the last minute.
It very hard to predict what angle the ball will bounce at, if it was real time where the ball faded out of view in the middle and your control of the paddle changed each time the ball was hit, it could be quite exciting.
