I just wanted to say I had fun these past 72 hours and I definitely want to give the jam another go next year.
Don’t think I’m going to submit my entry, though. Kinda made the mistake of starting with too big an idea for my first jam; I meant to start with a one-screen RTS that got downgraded into a one-screen mini-DotA thing where you had to cross from one side of the screen to the other with your caravan while capturing forts and outrunning A SNOWSTORM chasing after you from the side you started on. It sounds confusing now but that’s what happens when you have a lot of features you want to add but need to cut most of them down for sake of time. And the result looks playable (it has sounds and menu screen) but it doesn’t feel very fun at all.
Live and learn, I guess! I’ll make sure to keep my goals reasonable for the next jam. In the meantime, I think I’m going to use the stuff I learned and apply to the other projects I have. Also play some cool LD games. Congrats to everyone who submitted!
