Hey guys, I’ve been watching LD for years, finally going to try to participate.

I have next to no coding experience (minus some Unreal Script), lots of Maya experience, but going to try dev in Unity this pass.

Tools:

Photoshop CS5 – concept/ideas

Maya 2010 – modeling

Zbrush – displacement maps

Mudbox – texturing

Renoise  – music

Unity – Game Engine

Luckily the girlfriend works most of the weekend, but I have a few appointments to stop by. Can’t guarantee I’ll finish, but this is just for fun

Wasn’t sure where to start, so I came up with an idea for a fat little bee that can’t fly using pollen as a life source (time drain), and as a weapon to pollinate plants to grow over obstacles (ie, a daisy grows over a stream). So far I have a jump pad working, character movement, a few assets, parallax backgrounds. Working on getting the camera to track properly.

Well my creative mind is absolute crap this morning for what direction I’m going. I didn’t plan very well 😉

So I’ll start from one angle and work back. Current ideas that need implementation.

Today:

Finish Camera track script.

Character design

Music Design

Make a bunch of grass and flower objects to magnify parallax effect

Implement health system/GUI

Build morph target objects to combat obstacles.

Got reasonably far, but just won’t have time to get back to this for the rest of the weekend.

Pros:

Finally did something for the first time in 5 years, I’ve always wanted to be in LD and tried.

Got some experience with Unity and found out how quick some things can be accomplished.

I think this is something I’ll be continuing to participate in because I really did enjoy it.

Cons:

Didn’t plan this out very well, just went on a whim for an idea and halfway through decided

that the concept just isn’t fun. I didn’t think I could make it fun and lost motivation. I also

made other arrangements for the weekend.
